Hope today is better than yesterday, brief description of the day

Left hotel just before 11 to go to DTD
Locked keys in the boot of my car
Waited an hour for the RAC, only for them to tell me they would have to break a window
Got to DTD 15 mins late
Was told I was at table 55 seat 1
For some unknown reason sat in seat 9
3rd hand in call a raise with AK, king high flop and do 3k
Get back to hotel and find I have a parking ticket, even though I'm parked in the right place and have a visitors permit

Positives from the day. Still in although short stacked

Great job by tighty, must have been a nightmare getting round the tables, and thanks to Geo for comparing me to a World Class Athlete Smiley

Cheers

Tighty - can you ask Matt Heasman if his Dad is called Mr Heasman and was the headmaster at my junior school. he had 3 boys called Matthew, Mark and Luke and I think his name was John Heasman...? If not, is it his Grandad? Tnx

Not my family I'm afraid Ding, although as Rich rightly pointed out my dad is indeed Mr Heasman  Wink

Nice to be coming back today with 38k, despite the lack of premium hands all day.
Also had the 'pleasure' of victoria coren to my right for a couple of levels.

Good luck to all blondes still in.

Ryan O'Connor limps in early position having just said before the hand "everytime I limp I get raised, I don't know why I do it"

Neil Banks raises in the cutoff with

Matt Russell finds  on the button and 3-bets

O'Connor then re-re-raises. It appears he has the action he was looking for

Banks folds the Queens

Matt shoves, O'Connor has

board

"I knew I suppose, but I can't pass Kings with my stack there"

i think i played this well Smiley trapped the guy with my table talk, this tourney was good fun, sadly im out now but at least i had the chance

lol

[ ] WP

U "trapped" a guy with kings. If you probably open raise, you'd treble up and might be still in

the guy with kings should defo have folded with the action like it happened tho, i think that my junk talk was the only reason he went all in

Are you like a real person? He probably went all in cos he had a king and a king.

so if i dont talk do you not think he can think about it without me in his head. the last times i limped i folded so he should know that

Foirst of all welcome to blonde Cheesy

Secondly it has nothing to do with table talk. He has kings. End of. Your speech had nothing to do with it.

If you raise with aces, Queens could well re raise. Kings would shove. You'd obviously call and queens may feel like they're priced in. Either way there's extra money in the pot.

Incidentally, what happened to this speech play on your exit hand? Didn't work?

LOL

I was told the actualy speach to made before this hand! Soooo funny.

Was it not 'Every time I limp I get raised, Im not doing it anymore'
Followed by looking and your cards and limping UTG.
Pretty sure limping AA is not allowed in £12.50 comps or higher.

Pretty sure Matt's speach play was 'Sigh, you have Aces, If I had more chips............ You would have them to'

Welcome to Blonde though mate! Its a great place to learn why there is no such thing as trapping someone who has twin kings and its a great place to have a moan when everyone limps and you lose a 8 way pot with your AA Wink

I may be propping up the table, but I've already cashed for £70 in this event. During the first level I had a side bet with Stephen Pearce on how many runners it would end up with. I said 650 or more and the bet was £50. At this stage there were 635 registered. Hardly anyone else registered and about 30 mins later we struck another bet at the 640 mark for a further £20. Early in the third and final level for late entries it hit 640, but I was resigned to losing the initial bet. Then, with 15 minutes left the numbers quickly ticked up to 650. Must have been a list given to the cashier by Pokerstars or a miscount at the start. Imagine the look of horror on Stephen's face and my subsequent delight.

I played yesterday in 1(b) - The atmosphere in DTD was electric as it always is when its full. Different from a Thursday night when its half empty. The table I was on was quite tight and my stack gradually increased for the 1st two levels to 29k until My pocket  were cracked by  hitting two pair. which crippled me down to 8k . I then had to grind it  back up again.

I was lucky that I was at the same table until 30 minutes to go when the table was broken. I had just about sussed all the players on the table the only danger was one bloke who had amassed a big stack ( about 60k) and started bossing the table. I got pocket AA twice more and they held up both times which got me back to 23k at the end of the day.

The organisation of the event is second to none particularly the punctuality of start times and the dealers who are all excellent. The catering staff  do a great job as well; considering the demand as a result of the complimentary meals.

The structure of the competition is just right and most players can make Day 2 reasonaby easily without taking too many risks.  Today will be a different matter as people with below average chips will be looking to double up quickly to avoid their chips dwindling away.

So last night I venture to play at my local casino in a private game. I'm getting run over a bit (it's an uncapped £0.50/1 game and I sat with around £4344.50 to begin proceedings).

So I'm now sat with £213.50 when I receive after the £2 straddle and I just limp with to disguise my hand and trap someone. I've also limped the past 23 consecutuve hands. My plan goes a little wrong as there are 4 callers behind me to the flop. It comes a jackpot   and SB bets £12. I say to the table 'Fuck this stupid game, I hate poker, let's gamble so I can get out of here' and do a Phil Hellmuth (he's my hero) style shoveling of my chips into the pot trying to look like I have something like the bare ace of spades. Everyone passes quickly and one guy exposes his hand when he folds as  two spades . I'm like wow how can you fold that but also pleased because someone now fold top pair as the way I've played the hand combined with my beautiful speech looks like I have the nut flush draw so with two more spades already gone, I'm gonna be quids in! It gets to the original bettor and he snap calls and quickly tables   . I keep my poker face on and don't table my hand until the turn and river are dealt as I'm supersticious. One guy calls me a 'puffoon' but I think he's just jealous as I'm the one stacking those chips.

Later on in the night I again limped UTG with pocket 8's and mr puffoon guy who was the table shortstack with £144 got his chips in on the 8 5 2. Why did he do this you might ask? Well when the flop came out and I saw I had the absolute nuts I slammed my fist on the table as though I can't hit a flop. I think that affected his decision to move all his chips in with just middle set.

With the coolers and sick beats I was getting, I should have probably gone home with nothing. However, my speech play and acting earnt me almost £1,000.

Just sayin'.
