Why don't you get a job for 2/3 days a week when the games are poor anyway and play thurs-sun? At least you have got some guaranteed income coming in and it eases the pressure a bit. I don't care what anyone says, having such a low roll will affect your game.

well it doesnt affect my game. im playing 50nl so £3k = like 5k dollars which is 100buyins so 10 or 20 buyin downswings doesnt exactly mean that much.

Yeah but a few normal hu downswings and $5k = $3k + living costs etc.

Whereas 6 months part time work + poker could mean £10k roll = happy days.

Yeah I wouldn't move up to 100nl if you are playing 4/5 tables, but can make a good amount at 50nl with the sick volume you are looking to put in and 60bi's is enough. If the roll dropped to 2k  (40bi's) what would be the plan?

i dont rele have very high living costs at all. maybe like 300quid a month. ive paid all my rent for the year

get some sort of stake sorted. Im obv terrible with money and have less than 2k to my name 90% of the time. The other 10% im just trying to blow money but being staked takes pressure off me though as I can make it a through a few losing months.

If you work hard in a stake and dont just spend all profits asap then its pretty easy to go it alone within a few months once again, plus it builds up some good relationships and is a good fall back.

The psychological drain of doing what your doing is bad for your career in the longrun.  

Playing on Stars seems stupid. There are sites with 60% RB which is paid on a regular basis- this is pretty huge when playing small. If ur not supernova on stars then swap sites.
Play more low stake SNG's since its what your 100% confident in beating.

Alex wants to make it playing poker. Advice would be get back to education. What job is he gonna get that gets him anywhere in life at the moment. He will only fullfil his job potential by returning to education IMO. If he got a job the diary might not have the cutting edge and thrills and spills of trying to make it from poker alone.

getting a job is a last resort actually. if i go below a certain level then ill get staked. $5k is still comfortable roll for 50nl hu and as I said, my living costs aren't very much. i have a deal for live tournaments as well so hopefully I'll do well in one of those soon. together with rackback deals that im getting sorted, ill be alright and wont need a job i dont think.
