Not expecting you to talk about it if you don't want to but you did kinda mention it on here. I doubt its a profitable situation for the backer if he has to absorb all losses and only takes half of profits. You're edge would have to be pretty massive imo. I think probably only keith johnson would be a profitable backing under that deal from the dtd regs I know of.
If the guy isn't a friend or whatever then kinda just gotta take the shots but if he's a mate he's prob a touch
naïve
about poker and I'd probably turn him down unless he's uber multai and just likes the sweat / wants to help you.

Keith is probably worth backing 100% with no makeup of a 80/20 split. Hes too good and its annoying.

Yeah I've never played vs keith but heard he's awesome and read some stuff by him which confirms that.

Just busto
guy 4xs it at 400/800, btn flats, i ship 24k from the BB with
and he reshoves Queens, I flop FD and brick out. Oh well, played out pretty standard. Not 100% whether its a shove considering he's 4xd it from MP but is probs fine.
Th6h2xAhQx to a 2x Made a pretty decent hero vs a girl with TJ on pot river bet. Was pretty certain it was a bluff but it was a girl so had to tank for a bit :p
Got owned by Eso Kral, when he opened from late, COorHJflatted, I 3bet the small with A7green, he snap 4balls it, I pass he shows 34spades sighhh!
A couple of hands I maybe shouldn't've opened (ATo UTG +1, QJo MP out of 30bb) and made a pretty thin value bet where I perhaps should've checked on the river with AJ on Q87J4 with the river completing the flush draw, got snapped by a set. But nothing at all major. Let's do better next weekend
Thx for the compliment (i think) it was funny when simon came over and you told him the story (i think the one about "he has to have the biggest cock competition) as you didnt know we knew one another at that point or that i post on here.
Nice to meet you live tho, this is my 3rd fav diary behind Cos's and Vinnies unfortunately i cant say who is my fav as i wouldnt want to upset

Do you think that with being staked on no makeup that the backer is likely to make money on his investments?
i backed 2 this weekend no makeup. one 100% and made a slight profit on 50/50 and one 50% and got money back as they (her manager and her) took 66% and me 33%. i dont back for roi coz it causes friction but back people who i like and aint spunking off and would not play if i did not help out. just like swapping 5% with frankie it is more for karma. as it turned out the poker gods appreciated my gesture and rewarded me... i hardly ever put it i behind and was not sucked out on too often.

Why do we gamble over everything? I was just explaining to Hannah how me and a few people were going to have dinner tonight and play perudo for the bill, wherby whoever wins gets a pudding, and whoever loses has to pay the bill. This kind of practice is obviously super standard in these circles but why do we do it? Perudo is already a fun game, it's not like poker where you need money at stake, perudo is fun without money involved. She was worried that when I play games in the future without money involved, I won't enjoy them as much. Explaining the concept of the sweat was difficult to say the least. And the idea of getting to gloat over your mates, really enjoying every mouthful at their expense - it's pretty funny.
I didn't have that great an argument to defend myself prepared so wondered what kind of answers you all give to these sorts of questions.
