I read burglars often target the same properties/areas as they know they are doable. I imagine there will still be many times when you are all out of the house on the grind.
Obv if you don't have a house alarm system (speak to landlord, get one fitted? check if he has insurance?) get a loud dog, or get one of these for £20.
£20? Why not leave the tv on? Leaving the tv on everynight will cost a bucket. These things run on forever batteries. nothing in our house has any batteries still in em... wife wishes batteries ran forever

It's just where we live, I'm afraid. Students = terrible rented house security, lots of high value portable items (XBoxes, TVs, laptops etc.). I heard at one point that this street in Lenton is the most burgled street in the UK.

When I lived in Cottesmore Road (Lenton) I remember the area being terrible for burglaries. Some kid got tasered at the bottom of our road too.

Can sympathise with you having recently been through it. Unfortunately in difficult times these types of burglary seem to go up. You should really get contents insurance though, won't cost you much especially shared between you all and obviously review security.

its really annoying when you work hard for stuff and play fair only to have some fucking prick feel like he's owed enough by the world to jump into your house and help himself. Just a horrible part of life I guess... Did a blog about it after the riots, which i actually got some stick for ( http://lildaveslife.blogspot.com/2011/08/wtf-is-going-on-s.html ) just makes my blood boil, hope you get everything sorted x

Have you reported the burglary yet?
Probably best not to if you're thinking of getting contents insurance. You won't get anything back from the rozzers anyway and nobody will get prosecuted so best to pretend it never happened and save a few quid on your premium.
Tonytats is spot on as well. They'll definitely be back for another look in a week or two because they know you've got 2 laptops and a PS3 to replace.
If you need to borrow a large rottweiler for a few days let me know.

wtf i find that hard to believe paul? I don't, I know when I got my garage done the police got a load of the gear back, never heard a word from them. Not particularly bothered mind you as I had probably already played one round with my new set of clubs
