what on earth are DTD up to pulling your hand back out of the muck! I'm pretty sure the super strict ruling would have been you're all in and your cards are mucked (i.e you give Mitch your stack) there is no way you cna pull cards out of the muck!
hilarious hand tho, wish id been there

Last night was one of those nights. I've had probably 4 or 5 of them ever, all at 50/1 or 1/2 until now. Finally, I had one of those nights at 2/5. You may be all shocked to find out, that I ran like GOD!
I just hit everything right from the first hand. The game wasn't that good, fairly reggy but still decent in places, but to be honest, it didn't really matter. The other regs got absolutely battered all night (by everyone not just me). Mitch and secret Tom got stacked THREE times each in the first hour! Nick Hicks turned up and ran so awful it was truely horrible to watch. Mitch did his conkers too. It honestly got to a point, where I was in a hand with Nick with AK and he'd 3bet me to £50 playing £400 and I seriously wanted to tell him what I had before moving allin. I know it's my job and it's his job and we're all professionals trying to make money and it's happened to me before and nobody does me any favours, but the human side of me just wanted to tell Nick I had AK and tell him to save his money if I was in front. I didn't, since there was a few unknown people at the table so it would've been blatant collusion and I wouldn't have had a leg to stand on had they called the floor. Had they not been there then I would've done.
3 hands of interest. Hand #1 with Ian Gascoigne. The was a raise to 15 and a caller, he called in the cutoff and I made it £65 with Jacks on the button. Opener called, flatter called, then Ian made it £265! Very surprising. Ian was playing 2k and I had him covered. I can't expect my Jacks to behind here, do I flat and potentially allow the others in a play a 4 way pot in position? Or click it back/call? Ian doesn't go to war preflop with 5 and 6 bets so I thought the best option was just flatting, disguise my hand and play the pot in position. The other two in the pot were weaker players who I wouldn't mind if they came along or not, although I wanted the pot heads up really. Hopefully Ian won't make my life too hard postflop...Anyway, I called and the other two folded.
The flop came A55, didn't like this too much, I had Ian on AQ and AJ, and 66-TT. He checked. Good news! I checked behind of course. Turn was an Ace. Good news again! He bet £300 and I called fairly happily, calling any river. River was a Q and he bet £475 and I called pretty quickly and he said good call. Great news! He said after he had 99.
Another interesting one was vs Mark Docherty and Nick. Mark raised to £25 under the straddle and I called in the cutoff with
, Nick called on the button. It came
and Mark bet just under the pot, £75. He definitely has an overpair, AQ or 77 in this spot imo, so why I just flatted the £75 and let Nick in as well I've no idea. It was directly after the JJ hand with Ian and a pot before where I'd won 4 or 500 in the hand, so I was sort just catching my breath again and didn't really think this one through. Nick calls and we go three ways to the turn.
- sigh card. Mark and I check and Nick bets £180 or similar. Mark calls. I decided that Nick either had a flush or he had two pair, maybe a straight. If he has a flush, it's most likely not a K or A high flush, I'd expect him to raise the flop with those strong draws a decent amount. I overcalled the turn, which I think is standard - I obv wanna see a pair up, I can have the best hand AND I decided it really looks like I have the Ah when I overcall so I was gonna bluff a heart river perhaps. It came the
and Mark checked, (Mark of course can have the Ah easily with AA or AQ, but he'd defo just bet out on the river cos it's gonna get checked through almost everytime) so I was sure he didn't have it. I bet £425 and they both tank folded. That was a fun hand, and a nice river sweat for my biggest ever bluff I think! Was fairly sure it was gonna work though, and of course, I may've had the best hand anyway so perhaps it doesn't really count! I was disappointed to learn that Mark had bottom set so I massively missed out on his 1k stack by not raising the flop

The last hand I'll share with you, I raised from early position with
and Nick 3bet to £50, Mark cold called out of the blinds. He doesn't do this very often, his range is fairly polarised to 77-JJ and AQss maybe AJss, maybe QQ+ as well that he might occasionally flat pre. I should definitely fold to the 3bet, but 200bbs deep effective was only 7bbs more to call, I just flicked it in. Definitely a fold
The flop came
. Mark and I checked to Nick who cbet £80. Mark called and I called. The turn is a super interesting
. Nicks' range is wide enough pre, he'd cbet this board sometimes, but prolly less often once Mark cold calls the 3bet, he knows he's pretty strong there. Mark has 99 sometimes, TT and JJ sometimes and AQ a lot. He can't have AJspades since I have the
. The only flush draw he can have is
and I'd expect him to raise with that hand on that flop most of the time. Not ruling it out though. Mark checks the turn and I thought Nick would check behind this card almost everytime, even with QQ/KK, so I bet my straight for value, £225. Nick called with about £450 behind. Mark then shoved for £740. Urgh. Mark is a bit of a rock, he has a really really good hand here 100%. 99? QQ or KK that he's decided to slowplay pre? or the
? That's is the only hand that beats me and when only one combination beats you and you're getting 3:1 then I don't usually like folding. I'm not worried about Nick having a flush, he has a set or big pair with
sort of hand.
Anyway, I called and Nick sigh called with KK and Mark had the
and held up. Bit of a nasty turn spot. I should defo fold pre, maybe even fold the flop, with only 6 clean outs?
Anyway, that was a 2.5k pot, the biggest pot I played all night in fact! Still ran like god though
Was winning 4.2k at my peak, finished winning 3.5k, just topping my biggest ever winning day on cash. Over the moon!
Nasty seeing Mitch and Nick lose so much though, really felt for them, not nice at all. And I was absolutely gutted for Hannah, she came along tonight to play the £15 freezeout. 177 entries, with 23 left she gets A7 vs A5cc in on the flop of A76cc for a huge pot. I was railing and wanted her to hold so badly! Was gutted when river killed her
She's played it 3 or 4 times now and come close to the money twice now, she'll get there one day! Gutted

Had a pretty sick week, winning almost £8k. My lifetime hole at 2/5 is now over and some much needed highstakes run good has arrived.
My 2/5 graph is pretty fun now, only over 30 sessions, pretty fun swings...

Scary Movies - what's the consensus?
Thigh just suggested we go watch The woman in black. Watched the trailer, scared the shit outta me. Why would I wanna put myself through that? The scariest film I remember watching is a film called The Orphanage.
the trailer isn't that good and the corny voice-over makes it seem shit, but it's really good.
Thigh made me watch trailors for the shining and the exorcist, supposed to be numbers 2 and 1 scary movies of all time. Jesus, I don't know whether I could face that. Why would we voluntarily put ourselves through the negative emotion of fear? Does the thrill trump the fear?
On the fence on this one.

I love scary movies. The Shining, Se7en and Shutter Island are three of my favourite films. I also like horror literature and sometimes try my hand at writing some.
I'm not sure I look at fear as a completely negative emotion, probably because I enjoy the thrill of being scared when I watch films of this nature.
In for a scary movie night at yours!
