Have a safe and enjoyable trip Alex. I really enjoy reading about your exploits. Hope you get a great result in your games over there, but most of all, have a great, relaxing break.

Spent the day in London today. Met up with the boys for lunch then went to the new hippodrome casino to test out the blackjack tables there. They weren't as good as the Vegas ones where I won everytime so I won't be going back. The Casino is actually really sick though. Then they all went off to watch Japan Mexico, I met my London mate Steve and we had a really good laugh. Then I went to the Vic.

My memories of the Vic extend back to the 3 weeks I spent dealing for the WSOPE back in September 2010. Avid followers of this diary will have read in more detail about that time on the first or second page of this thread. My liferoll was £200 and I grinded/spun that into £2k playing £1/1 in those 3 weeks and with my wages from the world series, I had a £3.5k roll, which I thought was enough to drop out of uni and go pro Cheesy It's worked out well, but wow at that decision now!

It felt nasty walking out of the Vic earlier having lost more than I earned in those 3 weeks playing 1/1 in less than 2 hours. It got me thinking about how different things are now. Then my battery died on my phone so I started thinking about that. Would've been a long blog post probably!

Pretty sick all that hard work 2 years ago, just gone in a flash, and I'm now probably a net loser in there. Oh well, I didn't really want to carry all that cash around Colombia anyway so that's one less thing to worry about...

That doesn't sound a lot at all. Doesn't travel insurance usually cover way more than that in medical cover?

Pretty sure £10K isn't gonna get you very far in most hospitals...

Quite interested to hear the full story and full set of thoughts and emotions if you get a moment in Colombia to write it up.

If anyone asks about your travel insurance while you're out there, just tell them your rich family are insuring you. You might get a free van ride into the jungle out of it!

Not a chance in hell I'd go to Colombia without travel insurance, sorry.

Surely there must be a specialist insurer that does it for a premium?
