I'm glad they've brought the VIP scheme in, it's always been a bugbear of mine that the MTT players get their leaderboard and the STT guys get nothing, even though we pay much more rake.

We get a leaderboard but we dont get any reward for it. I finished 17th in 2004 and approx 70th this year. All we got in both years was entry into a top 150 freeroll where 9 seats were awarded to the WPT-PCA event. I also disagree with the tlb as it is not a true reflection of player performances as you can actually score tlb points without finishing in the money. i once had a week where i bubbled in 4 tourneys and scraped into the money in another 2 for a total of 915 points but a loss of $415 then at the weekend i took a 3 way split of a $50 rebuy scoring 115 points but making a $4000 profit - hardly seems right....

You pay more in rake because you play more tournaments. the rake on a $50 sng is $5, the rake on a $50 mtt is $5.

I'm feeling inspired by both Tank and Gigabet's brother who has posted that he has played over 700 $55's on Party so far this year. I have played 106 $60's so far and I shall not rest until I hit 200. I have bought a supply of red bull which will hopefuly get me through the night and hopefully I'll be finished in time to have a good night's rest before the blonde bash. See ya at the tables Tank Cool

Day 5 - My confidence is sky high at the mo. Cool Haven't had a losing day yet. Although I'm happy about this, I'm concerned that I might be percieved as just using this thread to boast about my winnings. That isn't the intention at all. I would be happy to report of a losing day, just as soon as one comes along. Until then however......

Day 5 Results : +$309 (+$3500.3 total)
ROI - 42.6%

Only played 13 as I was working late and didn't start the online sesh till 6am. 200 looks unlikely before blonde bash, but I'll try to get as close to it as possible.
Played 137 in total, another 3,863 to go. Piece of piss, bring em on.

Meanwhile I'd like to wish all you fellow STT crusaders the best of luck Cheesy
(I don't really believe in luck, but I wish you well)

GL tank - definitely a fantastic start

Are you playing turbo's or normals (think i read somewhere that you were playing turbos)

Is this just because they are quicker - as surely they are much more of a lottery tho i appreciate the normal ones can take a long time.

Presumably the $55 turbos is about being aggresive early - you cant hang on and hang on like you do in the normal ones?

Stars turbo's ain't that quick really but I am used to 6paks Cheesy The bubble can last for ever on some of them, the blinds go from 100/200 to 100/200 with a 25 anti when for playing massive amounts of games it would probably be best if they went 150/300. In a way though it is good cos you've got more time to wait for a good hand even though by then I'm usually already playing poosh or fold poker.

didnt realise they were 5 min levels - that is about norm for most sites normal tournies!!

Have just studied a few tables and it looks like you lose most people at the same kind of level as in the normal ones (just in quicker time) so maybe patience is the key.

In fact wtaching you do ratger well in a 55 as we speak.

Maybe turbos are the way forward!

If by aggressive you mean loose aggresive then no, you want to be playing these things very tight in the early levels.

Day 6 - I find the age old poker cliche "it's a marathon, not a sprint" applicable to this 4 month mission I'm on. That's why I'm not bothered that I only played 21 STT today. If I spent the first few weeks playing 45 a night I might burn out. I'm starting off at a comfortable pace and can pick it up later on if I like.

Don't forget to stop and smell the roses every so often fellas.

Easy to lose sight of, I'm trying to bear this in mind. Thanks for the reminder Wardonkey. No doubt they'll be plenty rose smelling going on at Blondebash. Days 7 and 8 I'll be taking off for obvious reasons. Will be back on Day 9 to give you another update. Enjoy yourselves this weekend everybody!
disco

Day 6 Results : +$769.5 (+$4,269.8 total)
ROI - 45.0% (from 158 tournaments played)

Not wanting to hijack Tank's thread, but since this is all about SNGs,  you might want to check out this post from a guy who is a serious SNG specialist and is also targeting the new Stars bonus scheme.

Some discussion on ROI, best games to play, and the merits of (I kid you not) TEN tabling.

Keep it coming thetank. I must say that when you moved on Simon Trumper's blind last night, your face was a picture. Cheesy
I've never seen a table collapse in fits on laughter so quickly.

Well Done Thomas, I am so proud of you, you must be so pleased. I've been watching you play since you started your mission and I'm happy that you haven't had a losing day yet, lets hope it stays that way. Be good to see you back to work on Day 9! x
