I'm lucky enough to be staying in Mandalay Bay this weekend.

Tickets for the fight are $650 upwards I was told last night.

Canelo on points a good bet?

If you're giving plenty of action on the tables in an MGM casino, you might as well try your luck and ask if there are any tickets going spare. They can only say no.

I went to Khan v Garcia a few years ago that way. A friend has no interest in boxing. I have no interest in roulette. Yet there we were, five rows from the ring, a few seats from Paulie Mag Cheesy

If only the story ended as well as that...

Something something Khan on his backside...something something mcdonald's in Luxor...something something

97-93 Lowe, 95-95 and 95-96.

There's not much word from inside the arena as to what happened.

Unbeaten Vargas has been eating leather in his first fight at this level. Think he is likely to be stopped in another 2-3 rounds (currently in seventh).

That was like a kebab shop ruck!

Only caught a short part of it before the stoppage, which was what I meant above.

Seeing all the stuff they're replaying now, that looks like a ridic fight.

Haha, he gets bashed up in the eighth and barely gets through the round and then - wins by rsf in the ninth.

Although he was landing some heavy shots, it seemed to be stopped a bit soon, considering the amount of heavy shots he had taken previously.

I am watching with no sound in a casino, while surfing the net and eating, so the official reports may vary from mine.

Now offering tips for Cotto-Canelo, following the success of my recent predictions.

FWIW, I'm with Cotto, just cos he has always been so good. Also, he gave Mayweather the fight of his life and Canelo didn't get close.

Guess that means Canelo runs over him.

Wish I could hear what is being said in the commentary. Surfed half-a-dozen live updates and there is no consistency in how the rounds are being awarded. Most rounds seem really close - hard to know who is actually getting them. Some heavy punches landed by both. Hardly a clinch so far, that I can remember.

Edit - after nine, everyone seems to have Canelo three ahead, though they have got there by different routes.

It feels like there's a lack of buzz around the Cotto Canelo mega fight. There's plenty of other action to look forward to though.

We've got a dodgy draw double rematch on Sky.
Jenkins looks an exciting up and comer but 2/9 is a short enough price based on potential.

The Crolla fight is an interesting one and I want to see if he drifts some more. Terry Flanagan drifted like a barge last weekend as all the money came in on Zapeda. The chain of thought seems to be that our British lightweights ain't all that but I'd make that case for the ROTW guys aswell. The 135lb talent pool looks drained. All the best guys move up to 140lb and 147lb for the money. Linares, Crawford and Zlaticanin look like the cream of the crop and I think the betting public are seeing ghosts where there aren't any.
It's not a surprise to see the money coming in for Crolla. With points being as low as evens I don't think you can go wrong backing the Joe Gallagher trained fighter to win by KO at 6-1.

Tyrone Nurse is a small favourite over Jenkins. As much as a I appreciate the kinda defensive lower volume precision punchers, guys like Nurse and Bradley Skeete seldom get the benefit of the doubt in close fights.

Murray - Abraham is a really intriguing one. No strong opinion here.

Lee Haskins appeals as a 6-1 dog. Beating Stuey Hall doesn't prove Randy Caballero is a mega crusher.

Perhaps the best bet is Engy's man Isaac Lowe at 1/2. He's got a test, and there will be some learning on the job to do, but it's a test he's expected to pass with flying colours.

Nice call on the Crolla stoppage. Backing any Gallagher fighter at present to win by KO is +ve EV. Given I've been of that opinion for a while I only really have myself to blame for not being on.

Well there there was consistency among the judges, they awarded all the rounds to Canelo.

I like Canelo but not as much as the judges. In the first half of the fight an awful lot of Canelo's punches were being blocked by Cotto's gloves.

Thanks Baz. The KO got me back on track after the Lowe result. It's frustrating to put up a loser for Fred though.

Gallagher's fighters get the stoppage by doing everything right and nothing wrong. After watching the Frampton Quigg press conferences I am concerned that Hearn and Gallagher find a way to do over the McGuigans.
