Amir Kahn is a fool who shoots his mouth off whilst having zero control over the choice of his next opponent.

Can't blame him for wanting to fight Mayweather/Pacquaio though.

Surely he can always fight Brook after he loses to either of those, but not likely to be able to go the other way?

No really he literally has no choice over who he fights. Kahn is advised "managed/promoted" by Al Haymon and part of the contract allows Al full control over the choice of opponent.

For example Al didn't like being outbid by Jay Z for the Peter Quillan vs Matt Korobov fight so he exercised his right to cancel Quillans side of the deal thus Quillan had to relinquish his belt. Quillan would of got $1.2 mill for defending against Korobov, instead he'd of been lucky to earn half of that versus Andy Lee, you can't make this stuff up.

Gotcha.

Sold out, for the dream, which will likely turn into a nightmare...

Nah it's a cushy number and well paid. It's just Khan's opponents are underwhelming and he's becoming a joke figure. See my previous post about the Quillan money, $600k is still good, $1.2 was bite your hand off good.

Naz (37 fights) was inducted into the boxing hall of fame at the weekend. With only 3 fights less Khan is a million miles away from that level of respect.

Ringside are previewing Smith vs Ward. I'm tuning in trying to figure how Paul Smith can land on Ward.

I'm still none the wiser as to how Paul Smith comes close to winning a round. As high as he raised his game against Abraham, Abraham at his peak was schooled by Ward.

Apparently Arbboy is in Vegas so he's not here to get the 1/33 on Ward.

The stoppage is a little bit shorter than I thought it would be. It depends if you think it'll be a clean fight or Ward will be dishing out free hugs all night long Wink

Ha, he's probably arranging the funds being wired as we post!

All in, and pray that it's a rerun of Mayweather & Pac Smiley

FAO Bazza.

How'd Craig Kennedy look in the fights against Wadi Camacho?  On paper 1/4 vs Courtney Fry sound a little short.

He was pretty ordinary. I wouldn't be rushing to take the 1/4 but Fry is pony.

3/10 Chudinov is stealing it

Craig Evans got the win 96-94, 95-94 and 95-93 with a double knockdown 10-7 round along the way.  It doesn't sound like a performance to strike fear into the heart of his fellow British cruiserweights.

Oh and Paul Smith weighed in at 176lb for his 172lb super middleweight bout Shocked. I don't know where to begin on that one..

Smith is a disgrace. He doesn't deserve a penny of his purse.

Boy did he do it in style. Never in all his future years as a broadcaster will he ever be able to criticise anyone for missing weight.

He has buggered his payday right up. He's forfeited 20% of his $225k and they've been negotiating further penalties regarding the rehydration issue. There won't be a lot of that purse left after Hearn, Gallagher and co have their cut, -20%, -expenses and tax.
