Found a win today, but once again failed to win the max with the big hands while managing to put second nuts into nuts for loads. Pretty fun £1/2 games, perhaps not the best lineup, a couple of fish kept it interesting and it was not short of action. Was winning a grand at a peak but made a bad call against Mitch and then shoved into on so finished the night winning £500, but at the same time losing £500. Failing to get any money from big hands still a worry.

Bankroll now not completely in the bin. Still losing for February. Morale: 47%

Law of averages that I had to beat you out of a pot eventually Sean.

Satisfying, even if it was a cooler... You deserved it for sticking it in my eye every time I 4-bet light against you! haha

Joking aside, it's been enjoyable playing on your table this last couple of weeks, hopefully we can both remain just above the 'broke' threshold for a good while yet ;-)

Haha, you're absolutely right. Glad it went to you and not anyone else at the table, they were all so miserable (and that's coming from me!) You know if you'd have called a bit slower, that guy was definitely overcalling with two pair btw. That was the reason I made such an overbet, you basically had to have something and I was convinced he had a strong hand on the turn when he min-raises into two people lol.

Staying above broke threshold would be ideal yes! Are you going to be in this week?

I knew it as soon as insta-declared call... I actually think he may have found a reluctant fold anyway (at least that's what I've been telling myself).

I am really paranoid about slow rolling/nit rolling people. In my haste to ensure that I didn't do that to you, I may have missed a decent amount of extra value Smiley

I'll probably be in Saturday night, if all things go to plan.

Good luck at the tables.

My friend and fellow diarist might have pinged my net wealth in a tournament this weekend, but he's going to be jealous when he hears what I pulled out of the bag on Sunday.

I was going to head down for the rail, but woke up with the sniffles and an overall sluggish feeling, so I downed some espresso and set up for the sunday grind. I bricked a ton of MTTs early on, but turned it into a small loss in the later stages of the day when I almost pure bubbled three MTTs back to back, somehow finding my way into the money each time. Managed to get out of it and turn a $100 profit playing micro-stakes PLO, and then a tidy £25 in flips later on, which just about covered the dirty chinese takeaway we ordered.

Unlucky Alex, you'll get the spotlight back soon. Smiley

Sean, maybe one day you'll be on the right side of the flush v nut-flush.

Feels like there's a level here, but I'm missing it! Sorry!

Do you not think moving somewhere like Leeds/London/Manchester might be better for a £1/2 player? I'm in a similar spot in a few months time and Nottingham is probably behind Doncaster!

I understand you will obv have other commitments than poker such as Beth/Family.

In short, yes but for said commitments. London would be ideal despite it being ridic busy. Nottingham is a little dry these days. I have a few mates in London who have said I'm welcome to crash for a few nights, so I might pick a weekend per month or something to play down there. From what I've heard, the games will warrant some epic trip reports.
