I thought Connor was great at that press conference.
Someone with some photoshop skills needs to mock up a face off with him one side and Aldo, Chad, Dos Anjos, Cerone, Faber, and everyone else he's been winding up the other. Even if Aldo does have an edge on the ground, can't see his bruised ego letting him go that route. Aldo will be fighting mad, and I think it plays right into Connor's hands.

I still find it hard to get excited by the Flyweights. I know it's highly technical, and I know there's a solid case to be made for Johnson being P4P best in the game (as Rogan never misses an opportunity to tell us) but they just don't hit hard enough to finish (very often) and they're so fast and fit that fatigue isn't often a factor, and that's when mistakes creep in and smart fighters close the deal.

I thought Mir was unlucky not to get the nod, but not so much that I saw a robbery or anything like that. I really don't like him at 265+. I know why he did it. Being trapped under Brock Lesner powerless to do anything about it was obviously no fun. If he would cut back down to around 250 he'd still be one of the bigger heavyweights, but he might get a bit of snap back. He's always had a reputation of not having the deepest gas tank, but he's worse than ever that heavy. That win wasn't convincing enough to put Arlovski front of the queue for me. One more needed.

Rumble is a beast. Pre-UFC Manua was icing people, but Rumble tossed him round like a child. He can't do that to DC, but a rematch with either him or Alex when the title is decided will be interesting.

Paide Vanzant and Michelle Waterson are both great prospects to help liven the smaller women's weight class up.

Lineker v Rivera fight confirmed as mental.

Well done to Pearson. tough fight but the right decision.

Didn't see the Riggs fight. what happened with the ?

How much did Mighty Mouse get for that last fight?

I know he still does pretty bad PPV numbers.

Re-watched Dana's podcast with Joe Rogan. He's so awesome!

Some cool gambling stories there too. His biggest loss in a night is $1mil and his biggest win is $6mil.

The reason UFC no longer hosts anything at Palms is because they cut back on his gambling credit/comps etc.

I thought Mir would get it 29-28, too, Adam.

I did a Brits double Pearson/Manuwa, so was disappointed with that performance.

No idea about the fight where someone was DQ'd

The fighter paypackets will prob be online somewhere, but IDK where is best to look.

Been working my way through them from the start, and some crackers in there.

Sonnen's is very good #216.

Yeah I just filtered them by view count and doing it that way.

He's even got one with Louis Theroux.

That's another good one.

He's got a few with Ronda, and one of the latest ones has her on it, too.

Dan Hardy's is worth a listen (#356)

Matt Vengrin the poker player was on one, and that was good.

The ones with Bryan Callen & Brendan Schaub are all com.

I think Mcgregors ground game is underrated also just because he was held down by Mendes.  He seemed pretty comfortable in the transitions though and his roll to escape the guillotine attempt was pretty nice.  He's popped straight up from every other fighters takedown attempts and I think it would be the same if Aldo tried to take him down, Aldo just doesnt have the takedowns power as Mendes

Finally caught up with the weekend's UFC.
Hall is looking nasty. Mousasi must be pissed off because he had a solid 1st round, but Hall's a killer.
Barnett v Nelson was as advertised Smiley

Brandao was also nasty, which highlights how impressive McGregors destruction of him was.

Any predictions for UFC 192?
Routing for Alex, but I think DC will probably dry hump him for 25 minutes.
Would like to see Woodley knock the snot out of Hendricks, and Rashad do the same to Bader.
Fairly neutral on the rest of the card.

What do we think of Dustin Poirier at 2/1 against Joe "The last man to beat Conor McGregor" Duffy?

Seems like a pretty big price and im surprised Duffy is the fave in this fight.

Not much data to go on, Poirier had a very good record at 145 beofre moving up to 155 after the Mcgregor loss and has had 2 impressive 1st round KO's since the move up against average fighters.

Duffy took 3 years off MMA to work on his boxing/standup and is 4-0 on his return, all stoppages, 3x 1st round stoppages and 2-0 with 2 1st round stoppages since joining the UFC.  His level of competition looks to be below Poiriers for the last 2 fights but he does have home advantage with the fight being in Dublin.

Also quite like Cummins at 3.5-3.75 against Glover Texeira.  Pretty big price in fight terms, Glover obv has the edge standing and has way more experience but Cummins is such an elite wrestler I think it should be closer.  Also 2 fights ago Texeira lost to Phil Davis and we are told Cummins wrestler is on par/maybe better than his although his all around game isnt quite as good.

I like Duffy to beat Poirier.

I think Glover is a bit over rated though but think he'll outclass Cummins. Those are tempting odds for a punt though Smiley

Wouldn't worry about it, as I think we've all spoiled it anyway Cheesy

That said, I think it's schoolboy to look at any fora/social media if you don't want to stumble across results.

Egos too big for that, imo.

The top fighters get rematches quickly enough anyway.
