Made my weigh in today. Weighed in at 22st 2lbs same as last week which is a total loss of 27lbs since the start of the challenge.

Whenever ive tried to lose weight before ive always lost weight at the start but then i hit a brick wall and go back into my old routines. I think im at a brick wall at the moment and i need to power thru it and i hope this thread keeps me going.

My next target is 30th April when im going to book a holiday for a week with my old man. I would like to be into the 20's so 20st 13lbs would be great which would mean i need to lose 1st 3lbs.

Got back into it today and did 5km on treadmill in 45 minutes burning 700cals.

Need to tighten my diet up aswell as exercise.

Keep it up guys and lets bust thru these brick walls xx

This happens to everyone Girgy!

Im sure I posted earlier itt, but if not, then take measurements of your body once a week. I found when I plateaued, often it was for a whole week with zero loss, but I was loosing inches

Your motivation comes from seeing the scales change, so why not have secondary motivation? Your eye does not pick up what are often huge body changes, because it is so gradual

You went at it like a machine for 3 months, dont worry about it, we have another three months here to keep you accountable.

Interesting message I read @ the hospital yesterday:

If a man weighing 12st 8lbs eats 100 less calories everyday for a year he will lose 1st.

Makes you realise how much us fatties eat to get so overweight.

That can't be right. What If I am already eating 500 calories more than I need?

Yeah I was going to call bullshit on this one as well.

How can you know how many calories he's eating now? Total crap.

Maybe you could say that if a man weighing 12st 8lbs a year ago and 12st 8lbs now had eaten 100 calories less per day than he actually did he would have lost a stone.

Other than that it's just ridiculous.

I assume it refers to someone who is eating such that he maintains that weight. Stands to reason then that 100 calories less per day would result in some weight loss?

100 a day less than maintenance would mean a weightloss of 1lb every 5 weeks, generally 3500cals under is equal to 1lb

I often sigh at some things you seen in doctors waiting rooms and the like (like BMI charts)

"educating" the masses with misinformation! We will look back in this era of our history with great embarrasment in the not too distant future Im sure! "grab a headline or soundbite and win the day"
