Tin of soup usually a decent option? Reckon I can cut out a lot of bread and happily eat soup every lunch time (and dinner if I need something quick and easy)

tinned soup used to be pretty unhealthy but there's loads of good options now

I abs love the tuscan bean one that asda (270 calories) and tesco (260) do (asda one is nicer)

Nothing wrong with food goals if it keeps you going towards your end target. Boring as fk to eat rabbit food for 3 months

Having a food goal isn't a good idea.....  Don't reward yourself with a whole gateaux, put the Saturday night takeway budget in a tin and reward yourself when you hit target with  a trip/show/new TV/whatever.

What about all the other nights?

In all seriousness, done this already. Unfortunately the money isn't going to any rewards for me. [3D Tv one time] Going to nappies and clothes etc as there is gonna be a mini Milligan terrorising the UK in about 6months time. £40 already. Not too shabs.

In this case a far better reward would be the thought of bringing up a child to be fit and healthy.

If you're unhealthy I'm afraid your kid will be as well.

As an added bonus if you maintain a reasonably healthy life you'll hopefully get to spend a few more years with him/her as he/she grows older.

Your first and last points are obv why I am doing it now as I said losing the money wouldn't motivate me in the slightest.

Your second point i'm not too sure on. My missus is in the forces, eats uber healthy, does 10k runs for charity and all sorts of stuff. She makes seperate meals for me as i don't like the majority of her food, that or i order myself. Obv she would bring up the child to be fit and healthy as she is.

Plus my nan and grandad both smoke and drank and have probs never seen the inside of the gym yet my dad and his brothers were/are  fitness freaks and never smoked or that.

That aside all that matters is that something has come along which has made me want to change my eating habits/lifestyle which I am happy with. If my missus wasn't preggo I probs wouldn't look at changing unless an immediate health concern arose. Have been checked out recently and much to mine and the docs surprise everything apart from my actual physical weight is bang on perfect.

Newbury Racecourse's Best Dressed Gent. And What?

I weighed 14st 5lbs when I did this, at 6ft 4in tall.

I dropped 1st 3lbs in 6 weeks and it was a piece of p1ss.

2-3 Weetabix with Semi Skimmed Milk for breakfast.

Stew/Soup/Sushi similar for lunch. Key is to plan something that takes time to eat/makes you bored/is filling - ie. let lunch defeat you before you take on a load of carbs/calories.

Afternoon Snack of a piece of fruit.

Low carb dinner but again don't be afraid to pile the plate with low carb stuff - veg/salad etc.

Chopped pickled chili is good as it's hot and curbs appetite, same applies to peppery things. Key is not to get so hungry you 'give in', rather keep control by taking healthy food on whilst you are still able to make a 'good' decision.

Good luck all.

I did this last year.  Used weight-watchers and the gym.  Weight-watchers obv has a rep for being for 50 yr old women, but I found it gr8.  Still get to eat plenty of food, but portion size is just a bit more controlled.  Easy to follow as well.  As for the gym, I think the main thing is to not allow urself to get away with the "Im not feeling well, I'll have today off" days.  One excuse will always run into another.  I wasnt too heavy to begin with (starting point was 14st4), but really found weights a far better approach than cardio for burning fat.  Also a bit more addictive as you see progress in 2 different ways, and this is really good for motivation!

Gl all...

Guys (not all of you) it's been said by Matt and Stu already but...

You are going about this the wrong way.

When you say to yourselves 'I'm not going to have any of something you normally have a lot of times per day/week/month' it just makes you feel like you're suffering. When you're suffering, all you wanna do is then have that food and it usually leads to a diet blowup and falling off the bandwagon.

I've lost somewhere between 8 and 12 kilos since I've been out here in Thailand and I've been working my hairy greek nuts off in the gym and eating a lot better.

However, I've not really cut anything completely, I just eat far less shit. That way I'm not suffering and am more likely to keep the weight off than if I was to lose a bunch of weight quickly because my body is actually getting used to sustaining the bodyweight. You guys need to do it similarly.

Drink a pint of water before meals. If you're having carbs, the earlier you have them the better so if you can have them at lunch and just meat, veggies etc at dinner that's better.

Extremes are generally tez, so if you feel you're being extreme, you're probably doing it wrong.

Sick brag about the weight loss but I would bet half of what you have lost is because of loss of appetite because of the heat, that's the way I am out there anyway, I literally only eat half the amount.
