Can someone list all decent apps?

Angry birds is good

Spose I asked for that

I weighed myself last night. Could have been a schoolboy error after 4 days if I hadn't lost any.

15st 8 so a loss of 4 pounds. Hugely motivating!

Honestly tho, MyFitnessPal is brilliant, simple to use, but also very robust.

if anyone's looking for meal ideas....

I picked up a copy of the hairy dieters cookbook in sainsbury's yesterday for £6.49.  Loads of really easy and delicious looking meals in there, all around 300-400 calories per portion.

Watched their mini series on this, some cracking food to eat with a lot fewer calories in. Anybody who has watched their usual programmes will know they certainly like their food. They managed to lose almost 3 stone each in 3 months too.

Made their chicken and mushroom risotto last night - really tasty and only 317 cals a portion.

Doing spicy bean and vegetable stew tonight Smiley

Well done!

I did the same and had a sneaky 4 day weigh in yesterday - 2lbs down Smiley  Just hoping it's still at least 2lbs down at proper weigh-in on Tuesday.  already noticing a slight reduction in muffin toppage!

I'm a great believer in the saying 'eat healthier, exercise more'. I've been lifting weights regularly for years but always had a belly due to my diet not being what it should. So September time I weighed myself and it turned out I was 14st 5lb and I decided i needed to take action. So out went all sweets, chocolate, biscuits, cakes, fried food, eating cheese on weekdays and in came eating properly. Cereal for breakfast, salads/healthier sandwiches for lunch and a meal for dinner. I wasn't calorie counting, I just exercised a bit of portion control.Any time I wanted a snack it was either fruit or Marmite rice cakes.By December I was down to 13st 10lb. A 9lb drop in actual weight but I suspect I actually lost more as I made muscle mass by my weight training. Any way to kinda prove my point, December saw me not go to the gym for various reasons(illness and bone idleness being the two main ones) and my eating habits went back to their old ways, so it's no surprise that I find myself back 14st 1lb. I've started back on the weights today, restarted my eating healthier and hopefully I can shift this gut of mine.
Starting weight- 14st 1lb
Target weight- 13st 5lb

Starting weight - 17st 1lb
Current weight - 16st 9lb
Loss this week - 5lbs
Target weight - 13st 7lbs

Happy with my first weigh in, obv this is mainly water weight from my xmas drinking & eating but i'm happy none the less. My target weight is my ultimate goal, I am going to include it with my weekly posts as a reminder.  I hope to manage it before I'm 30 (june).

So 3st 2lbs to go!

Congrats all to those that have already started on it.
I'm making a start tomorrow. Are we using an official group weigh in day each week like last year???

989,000 metres to go. Today was my first day back in the gym post holiday break and my goal after an initial post on here was to get down to sub 7min for a 2k erg, pull, row or whatever you want to call it on a concept 2 ( there is a lot of difference as to how this is referred by different athletes/ gym users). So in devising a training plan that would incorporate steady state long rows, 5k tempo row, 2k and 500m intervals I worked out I would be using the concept 2 approx 3 times a week. In between I would be doing other sessions, Saturday morning is usually weights and when fit, Sunday is usually long runs, additionally I have to partake in a circuit with workmates on a Weds morning before work and to top it off work matey is trying to set up a social running club at work and naturally I get the call today. With all that, it's going to be tough to fit the 2/3 sessions a week in to meet my new target of 1 mirrion metres ( yes 1,000,000 pulled for the calendar year).

Hopefully this does not come over as big headed and look at me, as my intention is to motivate myself by keeping a record on this thread and to motivate all those who are partaking in their own personal challenge as all challenges are relative to the individual. What I hope to get across is the struggle, hard work and pain that we all may be facing in the coming months. I believe in hard work pays off, reaps rewards and hopefully if anyone is needing the motivation then this may just give them that get up and go.

With almost 3 weeks of doing not a lot, thanks to Christmas and still recovering from a twisted ankle from the end of last year I hit the gym this afternoon. Plan was to do a steady 10k where I warm up as part of the distance and ease in pulling slow 500's for the first 1k and increasing the tempo as I count the metres down. The freshness led me to pull quicker than what I would normally do in the warm up and this continued through my first 3k, between 3 and 5k I was hooped but pulling 2:05min/500s which is again faster than planned but coming through the half way marker I was out of it and the demons we're telling me that's enough. The break had taken it's toll and no exercise of note for a few weeks was leaving me in a physical state that I would not normally be at. I dug in and despite the odd 500 drifting off I finished well and went through 10k at 42:09.  I finished off with a 1k warm down and a number of stretches for my back and shoulders. Job done, 11k in the bank and many more to do. I am more than happy to give a cash donation should I not my target and for each target I do make I will also give a little donation so it's win win.

Remember, if in doubt, smash it out!
