It seems everyone has given up getting thin for the summer according to the date of the last post. I've slumped in my eating habits and two weeks off work combined with two weeks off
the gym due to injuring my back playing rugby has seen the belt take the strain. Inspired by Dave Shoelace posting his stats in his diary, tomorrow I'm gonna post mine. On a gd note, I was able to train with a partner today down the gym. This resulted in the hardest 2hrs I've done in a long while and I manged a Squatting PB of 140kgs. Needless to say, I've had trouble walking up the stairs to take a shower!!!!

From my diary
So I have just started some personal training sessions at the gym. I used a personal trainer to help me get into my suit for my wedding and he (and gym buddy FUN4FRASER) really helped me a lot. In fact I weighed nearly 16st when I started and got down to 13st 13lb. I am currently 14st 11lb, which is sort of a success in that I havent put ALL the weight back on.
The advice is great, the motivational slogans being shouted at you are great, but personal training is worth it because of the accountability. Knowing I have a hard session coming up next week makes me work harder this week, because I don't want it to hurt like hell.
Anyway, after the wedding I used buying a house and writing our second book as the excuse for not keeping up with it. Now I have no excuse, and as I mentioned, I have some time on my hands. So I re-signed with Jon Ainsley my trainer and just had my first session. He asked me what my goals were and I just told him 'do whatever you would do if you woke up tomorrow with this body'.
He took some measurements and is getting me doing some boxing and weight-circuity-things. He has set me a challenge to lose 6lbs and 3inches from the measurements he took by the first week in October.
He is emailing me my measurements later today. I'm between about 42-44 in the chest/waist area but cant remember.
One thing which surpried me was my bodyfat %. I've never had this done before, but I knew 'good' was between about 18-24%, so I expected to be just outside of that range, maybe about 27%. I was actually 20.8%, which really surprised me because I do have a few 'wobbly' bits. I guess it is all down to body type/composition, and I suppose it shows that any single measurement of health alone is unreliable.
Anyway, I am absoluteley shagged, its been a long time since I pused myself. I enjoyed it but I feel a bit sick.
And just so I have even more accountability, here are my starting stats from yesterday:
Weight - 94kg (I'm 5ft 10" btw)
Stomach - 43.5"
Belt line 43.5"
Chest 44"
Body fat - 20.3% - 21.8%
The aim is to lose 6lbs and three inches (combined across the three measurements in any order) by October 7th.

I've decided to do some cross-training stuff, to go alongside the running and hockey. Not looking to lose weight, but could definitely do with improving my strength - especially upper body and 'core'.
Looking to do something that'll be interesting, beneficial and I can stick with. Any suggestions from people on here?

A couple of months of laziness and eating too much have seen the weight pile back on and I'm now officially overweight again and all my clothes are too tight
Looking to drop a stone over the next couple of months - going to try to get properly back into the running - need to find a race to sign up to and work towards as having a goal is key for me when it comes to motivation. Hairy dieters book is going to get another airing, and also going to try some of the new recipes they're dribbling out in advance of their second diet book. Will do a proper starting weigh-in on Monday morning, but around 10.5 stone atm and looking to get down to 9.5.

Meh I was doing pretty well also. Have not put the weight on that I lost, but I should have done better, I think booze is my trigger to falling off the wagon with the diet.

Might not be especially interesting, but will be beneficial.

I've been doing absolutely terribly since Vegas, am in the worst shape of my life and a consequence of that is my MS has gone absolutely haywire.
I've bought myself a juicer, but won't be living on juices exclusively like the boy Joe Cross. However, I willl be mashing a few of those down to add some nutrients and balance to a diet that is largely lacking in vegetables.

Think I had a look at that before (did you recommend it previously?), and I don't doubt it'd work - just not sure it's something I'd get into or stick with. I'll have another read though, thanks.

I probably did recommend it if the question was the similar
If you're looking to build your core and upper body, just do lots of deadlifting and some chest/shoulders/back work.
I think the best way to make sure you stick at it, would be to get a partner and have some goals/forfeits etc.

It's pretty easy to modify though Boshi. I did a simplified strong lifts routine last year. Only took me about 25 mins per session
