lol scotty took me about 10 minutes to try and work out what you were trying to say! Will try and track my progress in here not really losing massive amounts but my body shape has changed quite visibly in a week.

Tonight for tea i have a huge sirloin steak, home made roast potatoes and broccoli. It is going to be a very big dinner which is what im trying to cut out though but thought i would treat myself!

Still no gym on the rig, should be on for next trip.

You honestly don't need a gym. Bodyweight workouts 10-20 mins will give you so much. Just keep the intensity high.

I do agree with you matey, however it's not as simple as that.

Life on a rig consists of getting up, going to a briefing, doing a 12 hour shift, eating an evening meal, then having the choice of sitting in either 1) your shared room (bunk beds, sink, small desk) or a communal area such as a TV room or the galley. And to be honest i dont really want to be pushing the floor in either of them, i sleep in the first, eat in the second, and would just get in the way in the third.

When i'm home i'm lucky to live in the countryside(ish) so my dog will appreciate the longer walks i'll be taking him on, and my mountain bike is long overdue a dusting off, both things that can be done while my wife is away working at the local school (and will also keep my internet pokers down as i'm trying to save for a house deposit)

Anyway, i'm due off the rig 17th this month, so i'll be weighing myself then, and posting my progress so far, fingers crossed i'm below the 119kg point

There was supposed to be 4 of us start weight watchers tonight...... for various reasons the other 3 cancelled

one is going to do it on his own !
one was diagnosed with diabetes and is seeing his doctor and hopefully starting next week!
one is going away for 3 days and doesn't want to put on weight the first week and is going to start next week !

i could of used that as an excuse and left it till next week but decided to go on my own.........

weigh in number 1 with weight watchers 17 st 10lb tonight !

i am trying this with a thing called simple start for the first two weeks.

i am also going to post what i eat on here (to start with) which will help me not to mess up cos i will have to admit it!......

for the first time in ages i am motivated to do well

my aim is to be 15 stone on the 14th April when i fly to Vegas.

How physical is your job? You can 100% eat yourself lean though. I do it everyday with my clients. 2 of them only see me twice a week and do little in between. They just really nail all their food. They eat more than they ever have and get thinner! They just fuel themselves right for their day. So if you have a physical job then you adjust. If you don't then you keep your kcals at the level your body needs. I like to call it a win win win

You guys are more than welcome, if you aren't sure keep asking. what we are told on tv and in society in general is nearly ALL based on economics not health. If it doesnt grow in the ground, or involve sweat, its pretty much created to make money. But ask ask and ask some more. Once you have the lifestyle it really does get easier. Habit and all that.

i second that!!

might send you a little PM if i get chance to/remember to later today mr raise, as eating myself thin sounds very interesting, mostly due to one of my mail weaknesses being that i like to eat, i like to feel full, and tbh, at the minute, i'm spending a lot of the time feeling hungry (which isnt really such a bad thing i suppose)

Mick

PS Lee, keep at it matey, excuses are for the weak!!

You more than welcome to send me a PM, its better on one hand cos i will definitely check, but on the other everyone cant see, so will probably just post my answer on here so it helps everyone.

My name is Harvey by the way, probably should have said that at some point.

I have lots of pet hates about the health and fitness industry that stop average people being healthy. Too often the industry just want to make the guys with great bodies better and forget about the 99% of the population. My main hate nutrition wise are stupid shake diets, one large brand comes to mind. Any weight loss club that has you on anything below 1500kcals a day. They just don't listen to science and are so damaging to your body. So many people that have come to me from weightwatchers etc have at best been the same for years but normally are worse than when they started. Before I go off on a huge rant, food is fuel, if we dont fuel ourselves enough our bodies hang on to body fat because it thinks we are starving it. You can 100% eat yourself lean. This is slight spam, but I talk about this stuff loads of social media, Facebook is LetsBeLean and twitter is @LBLfitness. Not sure if i'm allowed to say that, but it will help everyone so much because I try and give out meal ideas daily. Keep going everyone, it takes years to put the weight on, it will take a while to shift it. But you WILL shift it.

Gonna randomly pop up in here. Just trialling out different things to lose weight, but I am just going for adding a hell of a lot more fruit and veg, cutting out dairy, and on the meat front sticking to fish. Going to start exercising 3 days into it. Whenever I get hungry now I am reaching for a piece of fruit rather than the mobile for a pizza delivery.

Will see how this pans out, but for the first time I am actually very confident this is the final push towards good health.

Starting weight: 21st 5lbs

Target probably looking at 16st (I'm 6'4 and broadly built).

Best of luck to everyone else in this. I am going to take a very lazy approach into this to start, but probably will be taking it more seriously when i feel better and better as my mind and body improves
