I'm back here again, lol........

Came off my last diet just before Xmas, think I was 12st 4lbs, but I've binge-eaten my way up to 13st 8lbs in 3 months flat. It's Rennies & Nurofens by the pack, not feeling at all well, sleeping badly, so diet-time it has to be. Again. I need my head looking at.

Started yesterday, March 22nd, 13st 8lbs.

Target 12st 7lbs by end of May. Which I can guarantee I WILL achieve.

I can also guarantee that I'll then pile it all on again.  Come September, the Xmas diet will then have to start.

Daft as a brush.

Quick update on this, today I got under 13st for the first time, despite (deliberately) giving up the Diet over Easter.

12-12 today, & I've given myself three weeks (until May 25) to get down to 12-7, which would be 2lbs loss per week.

I will meet that target.

Currently living off Ryvita, with Philly-Lite cheese & sliced toms, Cup-A-Soup "Lite", & fruit.

It's amazing really, but food never tastes better than when dieting.

I did have a buffet meal @ Brighton Grosvenor on Thursday, as I faced a long day away from home (20 hours) so I needed something. Had rice, with sort of brown sloppy stuff (looked like mincemeat), & it had what looked like purple baked beans it it. They were a bit spicy, but the meal was actually really rather nice. Can't beat basic English food.

Think I should join this, having just booked Vegas for the Mrs 30th and I need to lose at least 3 stone for November.

Tips and hints welcome, I guess i could read the thread but there seems like too many pages.

The oldest tip in the world is the most effective.  Eat less and move more.  The tough part in the modern world is actually doing it consistently.  That's why we are all here! glgl

                               April 21st: 17st 10lbs
                               April 27th: 17st 8lbs
                               May 5th: 17st 8lbs

No weekly loss. 53lbs total loss. Around 42 lbs to go; by the start of September I hope to be there losing around 3lbs a week.

Clearly not going to lose weight quickly by not exercising. The diet alone has taken me this far and this is where i will stay unless i put the exercise in. Feel a sudden urge of self belief with playing football at a higher standard that i had lost in the last month with my bad temperament. So i am going to have one goal each day, and that is to ride myself to the ground with as much exercise as i can handle in that day to the point that i know i can go again tomorrow, and go on from there. Setting an hour a day or whatever wont work for me, as the organisation of that puts me off, if i just have the goal of riding myself hard, i can just do that instead daily and let that take up any form it wants.

I think despite not losing weight, i have lost fat, i look a lot more toned now, and now i can envisage what i will look like at the end of this, and that really is getting the juices flowing. Have been tormented during the whole diet with a lack of direction and annoyance about how i had let myself get to the point that i had to lose so much weight to begin with but I have shaken off that niggly, irritating way of thinking, and now i am going to ride this home until i am in the best shape of my life, and able to call myself an athlete with just how fit i am.

Think my athletic weight probably is around 14st 7lbs, so i have some way to go, but i am going to go extremely hard with the exercise now, which should actually be easy considering i have the diet down to a glorious tee.

Actually genuinely excited about getting to my target weight as i have never been fit before, and have so many unanswered questions i want answered by the end of the year. Am I rapid? Have I got a great engine? Is my agility great? Foot movement? Jumping? How will all of this affect my football?

It is going to be a discovery and one that i had given up on as i was in a rut from the start of the year backwards, but now i see the finish line and i am going for it.

Thanks Ant.

It's impossible to fail at dieting if we get our heads in the right place.

I'm comfy with the current diet, dont resent it, dont yearn to eat bad stuff, feel better for it, all positivity boxes are ticked, so I'm guaranteed to lose the last 6lbs to meet the target.

looks awesome zerofive, gonna try that

It does look awesome, but I could never bring myself to throw away 5 egg yolks, and even if I did Mrs Red would kill me.

I imagine he did, but you can get liquid egg white from certain supermarkets. Agreed throwing away yolks is painful.

I actually wrote a bit about how you get used to throwing away egg yolks! I started out by doing a 2 egg + 2 whites omelette and was profusely apologising to the unborn chickens I was simply throwing in the bin, but now I have no qualms throwing 12 yolks away - they're only going to sit on my abdomen where my 6-pack should be anyway! Smiley

If it bothers you throwing them away, as Harvey said, you can buy liquid egg whites. It comes in a carton and is a little more expensive than just buying eggs, but if time is money and throwing away yolks is going to get you killed by your wife, then you might just about breakeven in the long run buying them in liquid form!

If you get through eggs like I do, it works out more economical to buy in bulk. These can be kept in your pantry so don't worry about using up fridge space. I would definitely recommend this for anyone whose sole reason for not eating eggs is because of the calories/fat content/discomfort with tossing the yolk! Wink

Alternatively, you can pick them up from Sainsbury's for £3 - you get 500g. It's a little worrying that they insist you keep this product refrigerated, but I think most people end up keeping their eggs in the fridge anyway.

Happy frying/scrambling/drinking right out of the bottle. Smiley

For balance, unless you are after a 6 pack, please it the yolks. They are insanely healthy and there is absolutely no need whatsoever in throwing them away.

If you were to have 6 full eggs a day for 6 years its tough to get a six pack. If you are having 6 eggs a week, its fantastic for health.

I will post my weight every Weds morning like the other success stories on here seem to have done. Wish me luck.

2nd April  19 stone 12
9th April 19 stone 8 (4lbs lost)
16th April 19 stone 5 (7lbs lost)
23rd April 19 stone 4 (8lbs lost)
30th April No weigh in
7th May 19 stone 4 (no loss)

Totally forgot about this thread last week to update as i went to visit my mum for the week in a last minute change of plan with my girlfriend.  No exercise at all during the week and coupled with some home cooking has probably caused the zero loss over the past 2 weeks.

I am officially starting this on Monday.  Been off on holiday this week, sigh.  Had to put in 90% of holidays in January.   Wasn't realy planning Vegas but as things worked out my Mrs forgot to put her holiday in at same time as me and when she went to book it someone else in her department had it off so our regular September jolly was no longer on.  I put in a holiday in May as got the 5 days for price of 4.

I digress.  Anyway, I will take my weight on Sunday, I am also going to take measurements so I can monitor progress that way as going to put in a bit of effort to get the fitness levels up.  Going to sack the gym as I have been paying and not going, so I have the punch bag up, ordered a new pair of 16oz gloves today along with some skipping ropes and a pedometer.  Going to put in a lot more walking.  Previously when dieting/cutting out I used to take a half our walk at lunch but this hasn't been case in last 8 months.  So going to get back into that.

Also really need to get a meal plan together.  I don't mind cooking, I actually enjoy it but by time I get in from work I am drained for the first hour and just eat whatever is in fridge/cupboard.  Anyone reccomend any decent diet plan or site that gives some good suggestions?
