My old man had to go meet someone in London on his way back from a client to get his sorted.

Want me to get their number, so he can give them a buzz when he gets back?

Think i cost him a few hundred quid, but saves any future aggro once it's all sorted.

Is it easy to get an ITIN number before you travel out?

Can you get one out there if you haven't won anything.... just in case you do?

Imagine you can, but doubt it's easy or everyone would do it.

Used to be able to in any poker room by waving a bit of cash about. That was my suggestion to Tikay's guy, as I know plenty who used to do that at Bellagio.

Win in a decent casino and they'll do it for you. Win downtown or in a lower end one, and they'll not go out of their way to help you.

Just keep things simple and lose like I do.

Heading back out in September, can't wait. Got a bargain price to travel via Croatia and Iceland.

I'm pretty sure that you can't get an itin on spec - you have to have a reason for one.  That certainly used to be the position, unless it has changed recently.

I heard they're making ITIN's expire in some way as well?

WSOP people filled in all my ITIN details for me so I don't know what the hassle of it is like to preemptively get one but it's going to be even more of a pain if you have to repeat it every few years.

yes they expire after 5 years non-use I think.  So mine (that I never actually received) has presumably expired.

My old man just sorted his after a fiasco at the slots last year. He's got the same ITIN number that the Bellagio issued him in 2006, but they now expire every 3 years.

How did they justify $112 or is it just a cock up?

Looking forward to my trip to the Wynn already.  Already noted not to order spirits, cocktails and room service.

Wings so much better FWIW.

I don't believe chicken wings are gender specific.

Try this https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/how-do-i-apply-for-an-itin

from that link

You can apply for an ITIN any time during the year when you have a filing or reporting requirement. At a minimum, you should complete Form W-7 when you are ready to file your federal income tax return by the return’s prescribed due date. If the tax return you attach to Form W-7 is filed after the return's due date, you may owe interest and/or penalties.

So you can't get it on spec.
