Where were u playin Omaha ?

because altho im not a 'good' omaha, I actually find it quite easy to be really disciplined and play super tight.  Its nice to feel like its all new again and know im not very good at poker (in before lolz).  For example.. just chatting to dave now.. and I mentioned I opened up my pre flop hand range to include 67810ddd and he thought I was barmy for not already having it as standard.

I think one of the other things I do much less in omaha which im trying to bring into my holdem, its much less hero-ism.

And because I thought some of the players at the table would make some big mistakes, the "omaha pro"
Got in KQJ8r vs my KQJJ on J109dd for example.  He chk, I bet, repot behind, he calls, I repot, fold and he shoved....Huh??

The question was where not why. I'm sure no one cares why you were playing Omaha - thread still delivers

Ah OK, wondering if u played live or online. I've never really enjoyed playing it live but I love it online. Always creates action, recently I've stopped trying to lump it all in pf or build unnecessary pots pre where I can't fold post and it seems to be working. Also restricting what I'm opening ep & raising almost any 4 IP, usually is profitable.

Gl, it's a roller coaster ! 😉

you dont win any additional EV by running more than once.

yeah didn't realise this at the time, I thought that for some situations you can reduce your variance and for others you could potentially optimise gain.
I.e. I ran it 5 times figuring that I only house up on board pairs or running cards which I 'guessed' to be around 25-30% of the time.  So instead of risking the 'chop' it all 70%, I thought it would be a better idea to practically guarantee myself more than 50% by running it more than once.  Clearly the balance comes from the times you run it once and scoop.  But I was a little drunk at the time.

Played in a fun 2/5 game yesterday... will be making a return as soon as I can.
Managed to run golden at the start then without bluffing any off managed to lose so many small pots it ate my profit and then finally got the rest in with AQ vs JJ vs AK and did not bink.
