Hi John. I'm sure you wouldn't enjoy false rumours going around so could you please set the record straight about Milton Keynes for the fans?
Yer, it's not to much of an epic story tbf Sad pretty boring one at that.

Well he told me something that wasn't exactly wild. He said he's a changed man and the staff and players have recognized this as of late.

But he's still barred amiright? Why has he abandoned this thread? This was my favourite diary on blonde Sad

I think he got fed up of a lot of people taking the mick on here, I get where John comes from a lot, as people can be very misunderstood on the Interweb.

Agree tho, think he should come back and give the fans the hand history's they desire, after all that's what makes this diary so enjoyable in a sick sort of way. Take care John Black!

this...
I got a little frustrated with some people on here and some views that I've wasted efforts by others or I don't care or don't like money etc etc...
I've always been honest in this diary and it has helped me grow and grow as a player, but more importantly has helped me mature as a person.  The 'problem' as many would say... is that there are fundamental structures in my personality that have been barriers to overcome when playing poker hands.
There were many comments on other threads about "wasted advice" or players "taking the piss when poker is just so easy"... etc etc.

If its that easy, everyone would do it.

I've spoken to some of the people I know, whose opinion I value.. off the forum in this time.  I've had some successes and some failures in my time 'off'.
With a live graph that looks like Nessie...  - down, up, down, down, dowwwn, upppppppp, down and finally up, up, up, up! (However only one part of a session took us above 0 - didnt finish above unfortunately)

Not that it really matters but I managed the following in the first four weeks of a casino near my home:
- over 8 days worth of play time
- finish losing close to 20buyins
- lost 11 standard all in pre flops in a row.. smallest being £50, rest were £150+
- took two creative lines in big pots versus weak players who managed to make their 'one outer' for a nutty hand... dont ever bluff?
- win a 900bb pot with Q10 vs J10 on AJ2K2 where I get called on the river
- made friends with some people I had avoided or annoyed in the past
- made a good impression and been invited to numerous pub, private and home games
- befriended most of the staff and managers, even having a couple of meetings with cardroom manager to understand his targets and give feedback from player pov that respects that and should allow actual change
- won back virtually all of the losses in first week of Oct with some very patient and targetted, aggressive play
 And
- managed to get a one month bar from the poker room only.. for saying (quote)
"You cant do that Davide, dont be ridiculous, use your brain... you cant charge full rake (10%) for hu and 3 handed play..."

Then next time I come in and card room manager wants a word... he says "you were rude to davide and ive seen a clip of you mucking another players hand... and youve been complained about by memebers of staff x, y, z so thats it... one month!"
The video in question is a showdown where I table K3o, someone else tables K9o and the girl next to me slowrolls 97o
on
K76Q6....

the dealer doesnt muck her hand.. then she picks it up... shows me and I say "give it to the dealer..." then pass it to the middle...
In front of the GM he accepts I corrected a dealer mistake and that there is no evidence of me doing anything else wrong
But tough shit...........

meh.

Already found some other games to play and will get back to grinding online.

c'est la vie... much more important things are going on in my life at the moment.
Poker is a game, not my job.

If they charge full rake HU or 3 handed it deserves querying, as long as you're polite. Sounds like someone's overreacted somewhere Sad

I for one enjoyed the  diary updates, especially the globe trotting (when you could reveal location!).

I know, I'm well aware I've been barred as a muscle flexing and hopefully the people that know me reasonably well on here (tl900, kosh14 etc) would confirm I'm very very rarely rude.. but often argumentative.

I'm happy with saying where I've been, afterwards but for obvious reasons mentioning before heightens my likelihood of any security issues.
Job comes first n all.

Bottom line is Casino MK has seen a drop in numbers and at the moment they're explaining it with the addage of "honeymoon period is over, we are still getting 4 tables on a Friday...."
However - the tables are weak, min buyin, hit n run, no etiquette and suchlike.

THEY ARE NOT 'GOOD' GAMES.

Speaking of being rude, I was in subway at lunchtime today, a big queue of people behind me, the guy serving asked "would you like anything else on your sandwich" I looked down at the pot of brown soggy lettuce which his hand was hovering over and replied "yes, some green lettuce if you have any.." I stood there quite proud of my line whilst the other servers and a couple of people queuing gave me evils. Rude? Cheeky? or Fine?

I thought it got my point across adequately without causing too much embarrassment to either party.

Call on 'lettuce'

Speaking of being rude, I was in subway at lunchtime today, a big queue of people behind me, the guy serving asked "would you like anything else on your sandwich" I looked down at the pot of sausages which his hand was hovering over and replied "yes, another pot if you have any, those 4 won't be enough.." This seems more realistic Wink

Has anyone actually got anything good to say about MK?

I've not been, but I don't really fancy it, given what I've heard so far.

Loads of restaurants, but they're not letting on in case you come to town Grin

For now we will settle in our exclusive club and hope by the time we are back the games are juicier.

Top  bloke John , its so ironic , the one chap trying to get the game off the ground in Mk  gets banned ....for me its got no hope whatsoever until the management is changed in full ...and then they try to promote it in some way ..  maybe pigs will fly

was a pleasure to meet you sir , Im sure you will crack it sooner rather than later ,

You got a 1 month ban for telling a player to pass their cards to the dealer?

You got a 1 month ban for telling a player to pass their cards to the dealer?

I got a one month bar from the card room alone for the following:
- mucking another players hand
even after showdown and it didnt win... dealer was struggling with the split pot
- being rude to a supervisor
I told him to use his brain, it isnt common practice in the uk and is unacceptable
- being rude to a bar supervisor
I strongly asked him to get myself and my fellow customers a drink before he go on his break as we had been waiting an hour and his staff were less than competent
- players and dealers complaining that I had gotten involved in pots I was not in
I have had to sort out pots numerous times to make the correct outcome occurr.  Ive given back approximately £250 in split pots incorrectly awarded to me

well done management. Great decision.

Since my ban the rake for hu and 3 handed has changed....
hmmmmmmmmmm...
