Winner!

Gladiators is the only thing to come out of Birmingham that is better than an Ian Bell cover drive.

Shadow once hit someone so hard with his pugil stick in Duel, he actually broke the contender in half, sending the poor bloke's torso spiralling towards Wolf, who was busy supping a mug of cocoa near the wall.

Pretty sure no one will believe me but i applied for Gladiators in 1995 and went for the on site fitness tests and only failed on the pull up challenge (which you needed for the final course to prove your arm/shoulder strength).  I passed everything else with flying colours and was pretty annoyed not to get on a show!

That picture looks really old now!  20 years ago.  Never thought the mid 90s would ever look old but it does now.

The mid 90s really have aged badly.  The football strips around that era look horrific these days both in terms of design and how they fit the players.   And every other player had curtains.

No i was clean drug wise.  You had to be roid'd to feck to be a glad but they insisted all the contenders were clean which was quite funny.  They loved the david and goliath look for tv.  Most of the contenders were 5 stone lighter than the roid'ed glads in that era.

Not as badly as warrior has aged last time i saw him playing poker live.  The roids really played havoc with his hair line.

Gladiators name for arbboy?

Loves to back a big odds on favourite, sunny disposition. JOLLY?

Or maybe the mortal enemy of the punter, CASHOUT?

This has potential to be a great thread by itself.

When I first read Mark had applied I thought he meant as a Gladiator. When he said he didn't get through, just thought they had the moody/argumentative one covered with Wolf Grin Grin

LOL at failing the pull-up challenge.

Were you a little short of readys in those days?

Eagle eyed - well spotted.
I like to include the occasional typo to check if anyone reads these reports. Smiley
