Afternoon Tighty.

An interesting game in superleague tonight when Warrington host St Helens. We are not at a do or die stage yet so I expect lots of points tonight as St Helens are good offensively but are conceeding too many. They look especially slow up the middle and that should play into Warringtons hands and enable them to win.

The market that I think there is a bet to be had is in the anytime try scorer market. I expect Myler and Ratchford to make plenty of breaks and the man that could benefit from them is the returning Ben Currie. I make him about a 6/4 shot but we can get 12/5 with Ladbrokes.

Suggest £15 Currie @ 12/5 with Ladbrokes.

Michal KWIATKOWSKI got the combativity award on the tdef today

who votes for that, what does it mean?

It's an award for the most combative rider ... which can mean anything. Today it was for Kwiatkowski attacking from the breakaway. Ballsy, but ultimately unsuccessful move. Yesterday, Daniel Martin won it for bridging the gap from the peloton to the breakaway. Apparently, it's chosen by a jury of 8 cycling specialists, and there can occasionally be some controversy:

http://www.cyclingquotes.com/news/fedrigo_it_is_a_lack_of_respect_not_to_award_me_the_combativity_prize/

Yeh, gets awarded to "most aggressive rider", usually picked from the doomed breakaway. Can be something to aim for if you're part of a smaller team and have little chance of any tangible rewards from the tour.  Fedrigo had a point on Bastille day, in normal circumstances there they'd normally give it to the breakaway rider who stays of the front the longest.

In the days I used to follow it they used to award tons of jerseys.

All sorts of nonsense.

They ciut it down to Yellow, King of the Mountains and Points.

Much better like that I think. Hope they are going back to silly awards.

No jersey for it, think they have a red (?) coloured number the next day as way of recognition? They guys who win it are normally having their one day in the sun as part of the break, as opposed to today where the current world champ got it! I'd assume its geared towards the smaller teams who are break fodder, give them another reason to get in doomed breaks on flat stages (other than tv time for their sponsors)

6/4 is about 12/5, no, or am I missing something?

12/5 is nearly a point better Mr Skip, or, put another way, over 50% bigger.

I didn't get much right about today's stage, but I'm sure we won't be seeing Geraint Thomas at 100s again. Poor Movistar tactics led to Valverde gaining 2sec. Congrats Tongue Looks like they've settled for the team classification already.

9/4 Movistar for Team Classification then?

999 have it up still.

Easy to check by converting to decimal odds, so you do the division and add one for your stake back

(6/4)+1 = 1.5+1 = 2.5
(12/5)+1 = 2.4+1 = 3.4

£10 @ 2.5 returns £25
£10 @ 3.4 returns £34

A profit of £26 yesterday

Ben Currie scored Warrington's first try in their 20-14 loss to St Helens for a profit of £36

Geraint Thomas unplaced in TdF stage 12 for a loss of £10

It might all change today with the weather but round one gave us a few early sweats at St Andrews

We have Dustin J, Oosthuizen and Goosen (top S African) in the top 10

Johnson became 1st player to hold 1st-rd lead/co-lead at U.S. Open and The Open in same season since Gary Player in 1974

http://www.theopen.com/Leaderboard#!/traditional

only three of our book are over par, Furyk +1 Snedeker +1 Lehman +3

At Lords, it looks like our Chris Rogers spread is going over. His Rogers first test 150, and the first 150-plus score by an Australia opener in an Ashes Test post 2006

Steve Smith planted the first flag for us in the man of the series bet. His average in the 1st innings of a Test is only 2nd to Bradman's

overall in the Tdf Sagan leads Griepel by two points for the green jersey

Team Sky fell 5 minutes behind Movistar Valverde/Quintana for the team classification yesterday. Might they still come back and win it?

Looks like the late starters today eg Jordan Dustin will finish tomorrow when the wind is forecast to be much higher than today.

Sadbrokes have some standout prices from those that will finish today.

Zach J @ 20-1 rec 10 ew

Lahiri top Asian 4-1 rec £20 to win (open to debate on whether £20 ew is good as well)
