Heat 2 & 3 of the Coronation Cup tonight -

Fivestar Clipper (4/5) and Swift Whirlwind (5/4) don't look like they can be beat and 3/1 the double best prices available with BV and look too good to turn down.

I had a look on BV site and it just showed the dogs at SP though despite oddschecker showing the prices here : http://www.oddschecker.com/greyhounds/romford/20:18/winner

I've had a £200 double and would recc similar if funded and can get on etc.....

dont think we are likely to do the double

"Heat 3 - Will be laying t2 around the 3/1 mark.  t4 should get a lovely run early with 3 moving left and slow away.  Don't think there is much between 4 and 6 so will probably be laying the jolly around evens as well."

comments above refers to the swift whirlwind race? which seems to be in heat 6 in heat 3 and arbboy wants to lay it

trying to match up the two posts.

Yeah bet mine or don't bet them that's ultimately your decision. Me and Arb are going to have to agree to disagree here but I think the 5/4 is huge because the 4 dog always is a false price imo.

Cheers Rinswun backed Wolves on your recc.My New Years res to ignore my own ideas and follow tft paying off already.

No worries. Could be worth keeping an eye on Brighton. I actually think they'll fall out of the playoff places all together.

I said i would be laying it around the even money mark.  big difference between evens and 5/4.  Was 11/8 earlier in the day.  Laying at evens and backing at 5/4 could easily both be profitable.

Ok further thoughts :

Heat 1, I am a fan of Corrin Bob however think it is slightly too short tonight and will be opposing it with the 6 dog who is unexposed over the trip. Could work out either way but I think we have a chance to lead tonight and hold our breath! 7/1 is a fair price to find out whether the dog is good enough.

Heat 2, Five Star Clipper traps out doesn't get caught.

Heat 3, Swift Whirlwind as above.

Heat 4, Tough race, I can't give a selection here really but am toying with having a few quid on the 6 dog at 33s best price (probably be bigger on exchange later so will wait until then).

Heat 5, One of the bets/prices i'm most excited about. I was sat in the bar at Romford last week getting pissed with a trainer there and we were just enjoying the races noting how slow the going was, then all of a sudden Marmalady shot out doing a 3.65 sectional and 23.86 on going that was clearly a minimum of 20 slow. Now somehow the RM has given this as normal (they seem to do it however they please there) and she has now stepped up to 6 bends this week. When I first started parading at Romford I remember Marmalady being in a race that I was walking in, and she was new to the track at this point and Kelly who was walking her and works for Mullins, told me that they think the bitch will be very decent type and should stay further. This was a long while ago now but after last Fridays run they've clearly decided she is in arguably the best shape she has been in and given her another go over 575m. She has won round here in 35.60ish before and I think she could improve on that if she got loose tonight. Best price 14/1 tonight and 66/1 outright is where a lot of my money will be. I'm not sure what the exchange will make of her but if she is bigger come the off later i'll be pressing again.

Heat 6, Tough race, if forced trap 1 but no selection.

Recommendations (place as you see fit Tighty):

8.02 T6 Sawdust Shaggy @ 7/1 (B365/Coral) - £25
8.18 T6 Fivestar Clipper @ 4/5 (Coral/888) - £150
9.06 T6 Marmalady @ 14/1 (888/Hills/Betfred) - £50

Antepost : (all ew 1/2/3/4  @ 1/4)

Sawdust Shaggy @ 50/1 £5ew
Fivestar Clipper @ 5/1 £100ew
Marmalady @ 66/1 £15ew

Just one for the future re ew betting 1/4 1234.  Tough to ever have an edge backing ew in a 36 runner field ew with those terms.  Setting fire to a lot of the edge you have in the win part of the bet on the place bet 99% of the time in this spot.

Think grand national in April.  36-40 runner event.  Every book offers 5 places in an identical type of price make up book and still makes it pay.  When firms offer 4 places they literally have it off and punters betting ew on those firms get royally screwed long term.

We wouldn't be betting Clipper for example at 5/4 to place in the first 4 as a seperate bet if a place only market was being offered.  If there was a betfair place market for it tight to 400% the place price would be closer to 7/4 than 5/4 based on the outright prices as they are.

It looks like we have taken the loss on the Greece to leave the euro bet, by 2016.

Guess their economy is such a success they wanted to stay,

GDP -0.6% this year and predicted the same next year. Govt debt is 177% of GDP and going to get worse. Unemployment is 24.6%

They still need to leave but I guess the EU have bigger problems than Greece so they will accommodate them.

further on the draft implications of dallas/washington

if they win/if they lose is draft position

the cowboys need to draft ahead of the 49ers, who also would be looking quarterback (post kaepernick, and with gabbert)

there are only two top qbs in this draft, jared goff and paxton lynch

tennessee have mariota, cleveland will draft QB, the chargers are cheap - might not draft QB (need secondary badly, jalen ramsey the probable pick)

draft any lower than 4 and you aren't getting a franchise quarterback this draft (unless you get lucky and find a brady or a wilson late, the odds of which are unlikely)

there aren't 32 starting QBs in the NFL. teams have used 68 QBs this season and your odds of being successful with a back up QBare low

romo has 2 years left, tops, and is unlikely to play 16 games a season again. has a broken back and two seperate borken collarbones in the last two years

the cowboys are -4 for week 17. they might be inept enough strategically to win, but they should be looking to lose and draft romo's successor

this is the talk of the dallas cowboys beat writers/roundtables etc which i follow closely, for my sins

thanks, took it as a loser in the december numbers.
