Yuh, was on Burton to win to nil and that bet was literally never in doubt once they scored.
We'll get the West Brom defeat out of the way and then go back to being flat-track bullies for the rest of the season in a bid to nick sixth spot.

Big game for Poshie backers tomorrow night, Burton at home. Think we're a short enough price here, given our awful recent record on Tuesday nights and against Jolly Green Giants. I'll be having an emosh cover bet on Burton winning to nil @ 5-1.

Two more bets for Towcester tonight if anyone wants them...
8.02 - T5 Stanton Stream 9/2. Dog is in form and running well in tougher races than this. He won on his last visit here without the need for a trial so a recent look at the track isn't of concern. Seems a big price should be off shorter, if anyone has Boyles (lol) then somehow they have him up at 7/1 and are complete standout to the 9/2 next best.
http://www.oddschecker.com/greyhounds/towcester-dg/20:02/winner
9.06 - T4 Ribble Aon 7/2. Really unlucky not to get round infront on last visit and there really isn't alot of early in this race. Has done 39.54 here before which is good enough tonight and is a different dog infront, her 35.29 at Romford 3 runs ago tells us that. Can hopefully trap best and turn the bend and stretch her legs.
http://www.oddschecker.com/greyhounds/towcester-dg/21:06/winner
9.24 - T3 Fred is already on as per earlier post at big price now SP.
Recc £30 on each of the above two as well as the tenner we have on the bigger price.
OIOI First one is in 9/2 returned 7/2 winner.

What do you reckon to the WBA price at the weekend? 7/10 and looks like West Brom will be going for it in the cup this year. Seems they will field a full side.

They had a strong team out in the third round and will probably do the same here. I'd be surprised if we managed to trouble the scorer tbh. We're best playing teams like Crewe on a good pitch in the spring, not playing giants in January in 40mph winds.

In Wijk aan Zee, Carlsen has gone into full blown boss mode, winning four of his last five games, and now leads the field by a point. Our man drew quickly yesterday and will face two of the weaker performing players in his next two games, starting with Loek van Wely, who has had real difficulty making forty moved in two hours in this comp.
They're all good players with little of substance between them, so it's tiny margins really. The cream does have a habit of rising though, and Carlsen, Caruana, Giri and So being the top four in the betting underline that point:

Ding's loss to Caruana isn't fatal to his chances, but with four of them there on 5/9, you would expect he'll have to get at least 3 out of his remaining four games to lock up a place. 2.5 might be enough but he's behind on tie break at the moment. Given he plays Carlsen last on Sunday, the games against van Wely today, Tomashevsky on Friday and Eljanov on Saturday will be critical.
Chess photographer Alina L'ami is a familiar sight at the elite events. She has been snapping all comp:

Here, our man is trying to remember his opening preparation. You can tell it's his move because the top of the clock is tilted with the fatter end facing him.

Thanks for the chess Update Tal, & to Nelly for the cricket updates.
Well done to Matty last night too, very nice indeed.
I missed the fun, as I was called in at short notice to work last night, but the Guest was great, & many of you will know him, Kev Allen. What I never knew - though perhaps I was being whooshed - is that he is in the immediate family of the footballing Allen's, Clive, Martin, Paul etc.
Here's the pokering Allen.

Quick quiz - here's Kev Allen, a certificated degen, with three fellow degens. Can you name them? One used to be a regular Freddie, another occasionally lurks.
Clue - none of them are Eso Kral, but he's in the same team of reprobates.

Too easy as a fellow degen lurking at the right time
But I will let someone else guess it.

Whilst the Brits are doing well in the Aussie Tennis, it seems to have been forgotten that the Aussie Millions poker is also taking place, something the Brits used to do well in.
7 Events in, & as far as I can see, our success is limited to a 3rd place in the PLO for Peter Costa, & Stephen Chidwick winning - obv - the 8 Game Mix.
The Tennis Brits have had more sets than the Poker Brits, it seems.

Morning Tighty.
I think Eddie Jones is a mole for the Aussies. His selections seem bizarre. If we have Paddy Power still can we have £20 on Scotland to beat England @ 23/10. If not then the 21/10 with betfred is good. I can't have Scotland bigger than 6/4. A back line stuffed full of Bath players who are struggling to score, Farrell at 12, and don't even mention his back row. All led by one of the most repugnant people in sport. If that doesn't get the Scots up for it then nothing will.

Does not seem to be as many as usual, though I did see Richard Ashby's name somewhere.
A while back, iirc, James Keys sold action on blonde & was 2nd in the Main, I think.
The site is not navigation friendly, but for any interested in poker, here's the Results page. In researching some articles yesterday, I was able to see how well the Brits were faring in less than 5 hours. Yesterday was officially a bad day at the office. Don't even ask.
