I was mostly offline yesterday, as I was up at DTD, & I note that here have been lots of Recommends for today.

It will take me some time to work through them, so bear with me please.

Once I have listed them, I'll need the football Experts to give their view, please, it's no good me trying to assess them, I just don't know.

Dung Beetle.

"Chunky bet" for Woilves to beat Luton. +1 by Leeds Rhodesy, whom I had the pleasure of sitting next to in yesterday's £300 @ DTD. Neither of us troubled the judges.

Wolves are 6/5 best.

Ladbrokes are doing an offer on FA cup matches this weekend. If you back a lower division team and they take it to a replay you get the same bet on the return leg up to £50.

Ideal situation is backing the lower division team away from home in the first leg, as then you will be getting big odds for the home fixture should it end in a draw.

At first glance the fixtures that look appealing are:
Sheff Wed v MK Dons
Millwall v Preston
Derby v Tranmere

Ladbrokes prices are....

MK Dons 6/4

Preston 5/2

Tranmere 9/4.

Note that Ladbrokes prices are far from the best in all three cases.  However, the Bet Terms include.....

Bet on the replay will apply at the original price offered on the first game regardless of whether the price for the team in the replay is longer or shorter.

Doncaster to beat Colchester. Best price 8/11. Thread Newbie (welcome!) biggle57 is not keen, thinks the price is too short.

Middlesborough v Hastings

OVER 1.5 goals, First Half. Best Price 10/11.

That is it, I think.

I cannot bet any of these without some support from the experts, as I don't have a clue. If they get warmth, we'll bet them.

Remember that the Brighton Newcastle game kicks off at 12.30 please.

11/5
4/1
7/2

Lakeside Darts

De Graaf @ 6/5

We have missed the best of the price but I think De Graaf should be favourite here. Dekker was woeful at the GSOD and averaged 76.43 over his 3 matches. He is also in the final year of his studies so not abje to devote enough time to his practise.  De Graaf is another young Dutchman who has had a decent year. As with a lot of players in the BDO you never quite know how they will perform on TV but the chances are he won't need to be anywhere near his best to win here. I'm not a BDO expert but i've seen enough warmth for De Graaf in other places to convince me he is way too big here. Recommend £50 @ 6/5 and a £10 on 3-0 at 7/1.

Match is on tomorrow at 1830 on ESPN

I'd guess there are a lot of 3-0 first-round matches in the BDO? Bazza or anyone got any stats?

I know we should be looking for value spots wherever they are (says the man who proposed a bet on the Booker Prize, the Turner Prize and some woodpushers...), but watching the BDO in just about every respect makes me sad inside. The low budget element, the awful, awful walkons and the standard of darts in the early rounds.

That's the one. I've also read suggestions that he may have the onset of dartitis. Recent form would suggest something is wrong.

Update:

I know Fred didn't get involved but I'm aware of one person at least who took my advice and backed O'Driscoll for next BFC manager.

For anyone who did there's reason to feel encouraged this morning, although no official news is expected until next week.

Currently Evens with StanJ, 4/7 with SkyBet.

Morning Mr T.

Today's rugby is back at our friends Exeter who are at home to Northampton. This is a clash to get into the top four, thus get into the Heineken cup, and so it is a huge game for both sides. It is Northampton's better players against Exeter's team spirit with home advantage. I do fancy Exeter to win here but Northampton are a bit of a bogey team for them so if we factor in a heavy pitch then I like low points.

Suggest £25 under 38.5 points @ Coral, Laddies or Paddy.

Thanks Curtis.

I think you tipped him at 4/1 or somesuch, well done, so we missed the value boat there. ;(

What's the standard like at the top, Bazza?

No Chisnall, no Winstanley. Obv Adams is decent and O'Shea is competent. Anyone else generally north of 95?

Initially 6/1, then subsequently 16/1 when the market made Flitcroft a big favorite, although the prices didn't last long in a low volume market.

Think it was much bigger than 4/1.

Tikay, I think there has been two contradicting suggestions on the Bri v New game. Anthony obv wanted Brighton side.
