Would anyone like some snow? We seem to have been given some other city's share

Groan.

Plenty overnight in my part of London, & I now face a drive to Leicester & back, & I'm pretty sure the Motorways will be a nightmare.

Thankfully, by this evening, a nightmare 3 or 4 days for me will be over. I missed all the fun here yesterday, too. Boo!

I'm having a quick morning browse of Oddschecker this morning...

Liverpool v West Brom

West Brom to win is 9/1 - Liverpool might be in a decent bit of form this year & West Brom not as good as they was earlier, but I think 9/1 (well 89/10) is a good price here & DNB is best priced at 13/2

They also did beat Liverpool 3-0 at home first game of the season & what I remember of that is that it could have been more.

This suggestion was floated by Aaron several days ago, & attracted mild interest from a few.

WBA are currently available at 9/1 in a few spots.

DNB may be better value at 7/1.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/liverpool-v-west-brom/draw-no-bet

I actually think - FWIW - that Liverpool will win this, but I don't see them as anything like a 4/11 shot, & the value is deffo not with the home team.

I'll be Offline a large part of today, but if, after the cud has been well chewed we decide to have a bet, I'll be back Online late afternoon.

Fred got on at 33's for Bolton to get relegated & 15/2 for Wolves to get relegated from the Championship.

I think it could have gone better regarding both teams results, but thankfully all of the three bottom teams all won.

Bolton beat Burnley 2-1

&

Wolves got a last minute equalizer to get a 2-2 with Leeds

This is how things stand:

16 Birmingham 38
17 Bolton 37
18 Huddersfield 37
19 Sheff Wed 36
20 Ipswich 35
21 Wolves 34
22 Barnsley 34
23 Bristol City 31
24 P'boro 30

I think Bolton will have enough quality in the side, but questions arising at what is happening at Wolves, on paper have a very decent team, but it's just not happening for them. A winnable game at home to Leeds and they had to get a last minute goal to get a point. Looks like we are in for a decent sweat.

Barnsley are on a good run too, however they are in the cup not ideal.

Funny looking at the table as you would think anyone upto 12th is still in the relegation battle. 7pts between 12th and 22nd.

Thanks for that Update, Aaron.

I like to see regular Updates of these "Season" bets where possible, it keeps the interest up.

It's days like today where, if I take my eye off the ball for a nanosecond, I can get comprehensively out-moaned by fellow commuters; people who decide they are now in a White Rabbit rush to work and that any minor delay is some sort of egregious slur on their otherwise unbesmirched name. The first Mr Shouty wasn't happy with the station master because the card machine was slow. The train was fifteen minutes away, but he wasn't going to let that stop him.

Like all great moaners, I've found a way around this problem: second level moaning. I simply spend my time moaning about other people moaning; the poor quality of their moans, execution, relevance, porousness, whininess, the works

Moaning isn't what it used to be in my day.

Amazing coincidence - I also know Mr Shouty.

I know Mr Tilty, Mr Missog, Mr Angry, Mr EITR & Mr Bloody Busybody, too. I keep good company.

Regarding commuting - has anyone ever had a song in their head and then sing it out loud by mistake?  Happened to me on the tube this morning and I suspect I was labelled as a weirdo on the Bakerloo line.

Regarding Liverpool, I remember them being chalked up at these 1/3 shots at home to Stoke/Reading when they were playing badly earlier in the season, so for me that was the time to oppose them, not at the same price against an out of sorts WBA when Liverpool are definitely playing well?

2nd T20 Hamilton tomorrow, 6am our time

Seddon Park. Very nice to look at, grass banks and foliage rather than concrete and metal

One of the smallest grounds in international cricket, though not the tiny straight boundaries of Auckland

- Fastest ever T20 century is at this ground, Levi 45 balls

- T20 Internationals at the ground. Scores all exceed 170 batting first, except Bangladesh game in their early days when they were rolled for 78

- Domestic T20 this year scores of 174-149-186-173-184.

Sixes quotes will presumably be ratcheted up. A quote of >14 is not to be played as

a) 7 of the 21 Auckland sixes were not sixes on a normally proportioned ground (mishits for under 65 yards, ie caught on most grounds)

b) NZ might bat first, and they are not the six hitters that England are

Better bet might be to go overs on first innings score, depending on where the market forms, and when it forms as placing bets at 5.30am isn't likely

you'd think so

The number of six hitters in the England side (Lumb, Hales, Wright, Morgan, Buttler) exceeds those in the NZ side (Gupthill, McCullum, Franklin lower down and then not so much evidence yet)

Just a bit cautious of chasing total sixes on the overs. Once I replayed the game, I saw as I said earlier that around 7 of the 21 sixes were mishits that carried no more than 50 yards. Even at Hamilton those are out. So any quote at or above 13-14 is not going to be leaving a lot of room.
