Well done.

Indeed Tal.  I've taken out £6k of it to go on a holiday and to help the family out.  They won't get it back.

I see with the final £300 they haven't restricted me when I deployed the rest on tomorrow's footie so I must be in the "whale" folder Wink

Thanks for the good wishes guys - I don't pretend to be anything other than lucky and literally guessed the horses.  But good when the stars align and the bookie gets one in the eye!

For the anyone interested it was a £50 bet, 4xtrebles and 1xquadruple at £10 a line.

Our Conor
At Fishers Cross
Salsify (which was beaten till outrageous fortune!)
Alderwood

Paid £6,375 after Paddy Power "guaranteed price bonus".  I'm not sure what this bonus really is but like it Smiley

Magic result congrats!

Leeds 18  Wigan 14 F/t

Tomkins missing the match cost us Mr T. He is like the Lionel Messi of Super League.

Any reason why Wigan are now 11/8?
There is a big rumour that Sam Tomkins will miss the game.

I like it when he doesn't play. Playoffs last season was more obvious as his replacement made mistakes..

These were my four horses too! I only had a quid lucky 15, can't grumble though, I had a poor first three days at the festival!

2nd NZ v Eng Test

Brendon McCullum is in fine form at the moment and his last 4 scores against England (in the 3 ODIs & 1st Test) have been 69*, 74, 79 and 74.  England have really struggled bowling to him.  Not sure exactly how to play it... Top bat @ 9/2 looks a decent shout, although he bats at 6 in the test team putting him at a slight disadvantage.  Ladbrokes have him 5/6 to score over 28.5, Will Hill offer 2/1 to score a fifty and Stan James 9/1 for a century.  The first 2 are for the 1st innings, the latter is for both.

New Zealand aren't (quite!) as bad as everyone is making out.  Their recent away record is pretty dire but at home have only lost 1 of their last 5 test matches, 3 of which were against South Africa.  Obviously England should win but 1.7 is too short for me, especially factoring in the rain which is due on days 4 and 5.  I certainly wouldn't argue against anyone who suggested laying them at that price

Thanks Cricket Chap.

We went with "Top NZ Batter" (this Test, not Series).

We have £20 @ 9/2, BetVictor, Brendan Mccullum, Top NZ Batsmen.

ON

Single Selections

New Zealand v England
Brendon McCullum
(Top New Zealand Batsman - 1st Innings)
Odds:  9/2
Stake:  40.00
Possible Return:  220.00

At lunch, New Zealand are 169/5.

McCullum is top NZ Batsman so far (the bet is FIRST INNINGS ONLY)  on 52 not out, with his partner, Watling, 19 not out.

The new ball is due in about 18 overs.

We are in terrific shape here.

In the England Bowling bet, Anderson has 2, Broad 3.

NB - TYPO ALERT - The Bet is for £40 (as per Betslip) NOT £20 as per my description.

Posted earlier about Antonio (Wednesday v Cardiff) being first goalscorer & probability of playing up front? Definitely confirmed as Wickham has gone back to Sunderland, so he will be up front.

11's on a striker scoring first? Yes please!

McCullum out for 69, comfortably the highest scorer so far.

Watling is still there on 22. Presumably, the others are not specialist batsmen, so it all hinges on Watling now.

£40 @ 9/2 is at stake here.

Watling moves on, untroubled, to his 50.

New ball due next over.

New ball due next over.

Broad takes his 4th wicket, which is not ideal for us, but......

....it was Watling!

New Zealand now 239/8, so unless a tail-ender can somehow hit 70, we have a winner.

Early morning squeeze will be in order, hopefully, to get Saturday off to a cracking start.
