So any telly race where there is a clear second favourite is a goer, then?

Sentaril in the first TV race? 1.40.
Doing this cold, purely on price. Does anyone have a better idea?

Thanks Doobs, will action them shortly. I think - correct me if I am wrong - that these are "Offers", if so, I think they get owned by Fred.
Meanwhile, the cleaner lady comes tomorrow, sigh, so I need to go get the pre-cleaner clean done. What a life.
Yes, I remember the horror that befell me when the bedder knocked my door at Uni and I hadn't left my bin outside.
She was coming in and the room was a mess.
Oh the shame!
The bedder? What that?
Seriously, I would die of shame if the house was not immaculate, and all the dirty washing hidden when the cleaner came. Then I spend all weekend trying to find where I hid everything. God help me if she ever looked in the naughty cupboard.
Not quite as Charterhouse as Adz suggests
The bedder is a college room cleaner (at least in Cambridge. Edgascoigne can verify, assuming they have them in the more modern colleges...). They pop in every weekday morning, clean the room, vacuum, empty the bin, make your bed, clean the sink and then head off next door to repeat. Students can leave their bin outside their room if they do not wish to be disturbed (too busy working, say)
If you're smart, you are kind to the bedder. She might then look the other way if you happen to have guests that morning or if you have an unregistered fridge in your room.
All part of the college fees of course. Everything is designed to enable you to get you ready for when you are a part if the ruling classes
Fyp
I'm not even part of the ruling classes in Fred!

I really have no idea, my eyes were bleeding last night after Doobs did the maths on these things. I just nod approvingly, it is all over my head, but you can't argue with (long-term) numbers.

Whilst Tal's description of a bedder's role is theoretically correct, I can confirm that in practise they serve more as the front line 'eyes and ears' of the college's pastoral management.
Mine would also sing a 'wonderful' rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Repeatedly. Every morning. Between fag breaks.
Anybody off to Epsom today?

Logic is
favourite short is good.
2nd favourite short is good.
Hills have to be very close to best price.
The above is why the Oaks was good and this race looks borderline.
Visiting relatives all day, can't do the maths or watch the Oaks!
Tighty needs to look at my posts from yday to see if he wants the Chopin bet as proposed.

Tighty is having a day off today (can't get the staff) so that decision will need to wait until tomorrow at least. We can trust him not to aftertime.

Which was annoying because it was disturbing your work. Linguists are known for their early mornings.
Also, be careful of your choice of expression (ironically): some think we were Oik-smashing, Eton-bred toffs. "Fag breaks" will be taken the wrong way. As it were.

misread the offer. Just need to pick short price horses where Hills are close to Betfair. I think favourites are better than 2nd faves.
Got to go.
Edit. Thistle bird In first, gregorian and secret gesture prob all good.

Here we go, the Greyhound Derby kicks off tonight with 13 heats with another 13 heats to follow. I'll give a quick summary of our positions.
Farloe Warhawk - £25 @ 33/1:
Current best price is 28/1 with 20/1 the lowest price available. Nothing changed with Warhawk really, a nice trial last week didn't shift his price but overnight he has been backed down. Goes in heat 23 at 9:48 on Saturday. He is even money at best for the heat and although there are a few decent dogs in the race I expect him to make all.
Farloe Barracuda - £20EW @ 40/1:
Current best price is 66/1 with 33/1 the lowest price available. Price has been moved the wrong way due to two poor trials where he has struggled to break 29 seconds and when you consider some dogs have been trialling at 28:30 then it puts that into perspective. Still got the blistering early place but is struggling to see the trip out. Runs in heat 18 at 8:26 on Saturday and has been drawn against some of the other fastest trappers in the comp. Might not win the heat but can definitely qualify.
Skate On - £10 @ £150/1:
Current best price is 80/1 with 50/1 the shortest price. I've billed her as one of the best early paced dogs in the competition and I think we'll get a good run. Has obviously been backed well. Goes in heat 15 on Saturday at 7:39. Not long out of season so will need this run but I see her leading before succumbing to Priceless Sky to finish 2nd.
Jaytee Hellcat - £10 @ 100/1:
Current best price is 50/1 with 33/1 the shortest available. Confident that Hellcat is going to be the type of dog to get through the rounds with ease. Goes in heat 11 tonight at 10:03 and looks to have a good chance of winning heat with likely trouble on the inside.
Bridge Honcho - £10 @ 100/1:
Current best price is 100/1 with 80/1 the shortest. Was advised at 150/1 and was back out to that price this week after a less than ideal draw in heat 6 tonight at 8:42. Lines up against Ballymac Eske and Lister's Farloe Tango whilst Honcho starts in trap 5 with the early paced Isabels Boy in 6 who will move left. Hopefully can sneak through.
Loughteen Blanco - £15 @ 66/1:
Current best price is 125/1 with WH but is bizarrely 33/1 elsewhere. Hasn't shown much in the run up to the competition with just one poor trial but we might still get a good run from him. Has a tough-ish heat tomorrow in heat 17 at 8:10 but if good form should be good to win through many a round.
I think that's them all. I've added Any Dak at something crazy like 699/1 on Betfair. Blistering early but bad draw in first round as a wide seed in 3. If he gets through and gets wider boxes he might be interesting enough. Maybe TfT can have £5?

Great stuff, as expected, thanks Scott, that takes care of TV viewing tonight & tomorrow.
We have added that last selection as follows....
£5 @ 729/1, Betfair, ANY DAK, 2013 Greyhound Derby. (Only £2.34 matched so far).

Talking of Grumpy Old Gits, I just saw a tweet from Paul Spillane, which linked to an excellent (old) blog from Neil, penned some time ago, but still very relevant.
There you go, GRUMPY OLD MEN
