Just out of curiosity as i have no position, does today's meaningless money-spinner for 3rd and 4th place count towards top goal-scorer in those markets?

Yes

Hoping RVP and Robben do not play, given LVG's disdain for the game

Edwin Van Der Saar was on the radio overnight stating that he had heard they were very much up for the game.

Very interested in one of the early races at Ascot.

Old friend Barnet Fair runs in the 1.55.

He has been round the houses recently, and now resides with former "Sprint King" Dandy Nichols.

There is a race at Ascot later in the month that BF has won twice in the past, and Dandy has suggested he is keen to get BF ready for that. However after a promising run in the Gosforth Cup where he ran into a pocket, he looks like his time is near. He has ideal conditions at Ascot, fast ground, and what looks a decent draw, based on what I saw at RA, anyway!

He races of 90 which was his last winning mark, but has a super little apprentice Cam Hardie, taking off 5lbs. All in all, seems strange to be here with such an obvious chance and using a crack apprentice if he is just here for a day out. It wouldn't be the first time Dandy has been frugal with the truth.

It was 12s last night, but I resisted a recommend until I woke to see the sun shining.

Lets have a sneaky £10 ew in anticipation of a good run @10s

It's time for Tips for Tikays first venture into E-sports.

Bet365>Specials>World>E-sports LOL.

12/07 - Counter Logic Gaming vs Team SoloMid.
Back Counter Logic Gaming at 10/11. Best team in North America but Team SoloMid are huge fav favourites. Team SoloMid are still gelling as a team. Counter Logic are also on red side and have first choice of champion.
£20 should be fine.

1.971 on Pinnacle.
Pinnacle>Esports>League of Legends>Championship Series.

i'm sorry, what is this?

esports?

New one on me, too, so I went googling.

And it really is knows as "LolSports". ("LoL" = "League of Legends").

Tremendous.

3rd/4th place play offs are a daft idea, well they are in this world cup :-)

BET SUGGESTION STARBOARD £10 EACH WAY 50/1 KORALS (5 PLACES) (sjames are 66 4 places for those who can/want to)

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/2014-07-12-york/14:55/winner

Speculative one this but at the prices worth a small bet.

Was with Gosden before two years ago before going to France and doing little. Simcock bought it for 70k just over a year ago, Has had four runs for him two respectable efforts in Dubai outclassed in a listed race and then a fair run in the Hunt Cup last time.

What caught my eye there was that the jockey Twiston Davies (not as good as his brother), switched him very early from a low draw to the far side losing so much ground. He made a fair mid race move before understandably tiring late on. On that run he was just behind Queensbury Rules of Haggas and that one is 14/1.

Back upto his best trip, 17lbs lower than 18 months ago when with Gosden deserves to be a big price but not the complete rag of the field.

i tried this with Coral last night, on various browsers. site unusable

tried again this morning, still can't get anything into a betslip online

wrote to the chief Executive, Andy Hornby, who used to be FD of Halifax and was at the helm for HBOS's very imprudent housing market lending (self certification) that eventually led them to run to Lloyds Bank as they had too much bad exposures

Mr Hornby said: "I'm very sorry what happened at HBOS. It has affected shareholders, many of whom are colleagues, it's affected the communities in which we live and serve, it's clearly affected taxpayers, and we are extremely sorry for the turn of events that has brought it about."

Now at Coral, and their website is the worst i ever use.

gave up when i tried again

betvictor 66-1 but only 4 places

14:55 STARBOARD (EW) (Horse Racing Outright - Race) Odds: 66/1 Stake: 20.00 Possible Return:  845.00

That Coral site seems to work a lot better on mobile for me.  After 1 attempt on the main site, I always spark up the mobile.

66/1 4 places is going to be better than 50/1 5 places.  You gain 32% on the price (66/50-1) on the win which is half the bet, nd also gain on the place bet (1.32 x 4/5) = 1.05.  Sometimes you are going to get a fifth, but you should be happy you are making the right decision overall here.

Maybe it would be good if Mere added a page to the spready that did this?  I could bang something up in excel that could be tagged on, presumably converting it to the google spreadsheet thing would be easy enough.   It could answer some of the standard questions such as is Betfair better? which is better 100/1 6 places or 80/1 8 places? 7/1 at quarter first 3 or 8/1 with fifth first 3?  Thinking about it, it is probably better as a standalone.

Guess the google spreadsheet thing is going to be easy enough to use, do I need a gmail?  Anyone

I will open a betdaq account today. £250 sufficient?

I could deposit on Totesport if we wish, though they are generally the same as BetFred, which is funded.

I ought to sort Pinnacle, but all the scanned ID stuff is a royal pain in the arse.

888 would be useful, if you do not mind opening it

no need to do totesport

i would say less on betdaq, but others may have a view

I would suggest, that with so many draws, it has been a bookies bonanza.

The "£1bn in bets" is of course made up nonsense.
