Peter, were you placing bets last season away from this forum? If so how did you do last season?
I think he posted a link to his blog once where it was an impressively-positive ROI.
I only put £10 on the 20-1 shot but happy to give Fred half of that if it went before TT could get on?
Peter you may want to go down the CWS route and PM your bets that they do then post afterwards?
PM the bets to Tighty and wait until he has placed them you mean? I'm happy to do that in the future, if that's what everyone wanted?

I think that's the best thing if there is a lot of time before the 'off'. It's only fair that you get the positive ROI of the bet attributed to your spreadsheet row, which is why I'm happy to help with the 20-1 shot. Is that price even better than the 25-1(?) one that came in at Boyleslorts last season?

Good stuff Peter. I think Formula 1 King is about right. Had you flagged from first post, the enthusiasm for your sport is ridiculous. Keep them coming and turn down any offers from any tipping services

Never heard Azinger talk before but sticking with BBC after listening to him for first 30 mins
The difference between the coverage on BBC and Sky Sports is chalk and cheese. Stuck to BBC tonight, far superior IMO.

Was this mentioned in the coverage?

The only plus the bbc has over sky is Ken Brown when he starts talking to the golf ball when showing the devestating green speed, comical.

Well done in Adz on Many clouds, but just curious to know why it was only 33-1? I got on at 40-1 about 12 ish. Would have also been quite interesting if Druids nephew didn't fall

Peter, you're fast becoming one of the stars of this thread, and all done in such good humour too.
Thank you.
Thank you very much, I really appreciate that comment
You may change your mind tomorrow if all my bets lose though!!
Got to say, tomorrow will be interesting, it has been a crazy weekend so far as the data was extremely inconsistent through Friday practice. The bet suggestions will either end up being massively profitable or terrible! I guess that's the nature of betting in general though
Pretty sure by this time no one on this thread is results orientated, don't worry about having a bad week now and again that is inevitable ... Fred is lucky to have you posting. I am actually getting mildly interested in the sport since reading your posts although admittedly id be interested in carpet bowls if I could make money on it
Would love to know what 'the data' is ? Is it accessible to Joe public?

Back in March when the bet was proposed/struck, BFSB were paying five places and offering non-runner no bet. I think their 33-1 was best price at the time too.

Agreed, obviously Alliss wins overall, thought Azinger comment was really strong, actually had something to say rather than usual churning out of cliches - I find Nick Faldo the same for whatever US TV he works for, really good. The sky guys are just on repeat, and don't get me started on Livingstone, how he has that job is beyond me

Any punters want 20/1 on two selections pm in next 20min. Will be long gone by the morning. Both will be and are 10/1 correct price. May or may not get a good run but at the price you can't go wrong.

You mean the race of champions Coulthard bet which which was 25-1? Yes, this is a better spot. I seriously have to question the trader who put up that price, crazy stuff!

.... in the same way I'd be interested in lawnmower racing - it's still motorsport! Well, that depends on how the lawnmower is powered of course, I'm sure Tikay can provide more insight on lawnmower propulsion methods
F1 is a data rich sport, everything is recorded from lap times to steering inputs. Other common things that I look at include sector times, speed trap times, measured temperatures, shift points and racing lines as well as aero data such as stagnation point info, drag values, airflow waistline data etc. etc.
Unfortunately, F1 is also a very secretive sport so most of this data is not publicly available, apart from the basic timing data. You know, all teams on the grid (possibly excluding Manor) employ members of staff as photographers who have the sole job of spying on other teams!
I am able to get hold of team specific data having worked for Williams and through having good relationships with other teams. There is more non-team specific data that certain people also have access too - but to maintain access I'm not actually allowed to state how this is done (makes it sound dodgy, but it's all legal and above board haha)
