Question RE: Sporting Bet. Are they still charging for deposits?
If so are you accounting for this? Not sure if you deposit for each bet or have money in a few accounts now but if you are being charged for a deposit it should be noted as essentially you aren't getting the advertised odds.
Not really sure, to be honest. When I accessed Sporting Bet for the purposes of this thread, I found I still had money in there my my time with them as their, umm, Poker Pro/Ambassador.
I know, I know, you can't make these things up. I was monsta, I had Flags & everything.
They charge for deposits under £250

I'll tell you what really would be an interesting geeky stat (esp after a longer sample size).
Which bookmakers do you win most from and which do you lose most to.
Based upon the current small sample size, that is easy to work out - on the spreadsheet every bet is ascribed to whatever bookmaker was used on the spready. Might take me a while to work out, though Mere can probably press a button to get the answer.
You were less than religious about recording which bookmaker you used in the early days of the thread.
Despite this, I present the following for the geeks:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc#gid=7
Great stuff.
After a year, I bet we are winning from S*ybet, Paddy and Chandlers.

Losing on Pinny and Betfair.
"After a year". You seriously think I'll still be doing this in a year, & I'm re-addicted to wagering with Turf Accountants?
More seriously, why do you take that view as to those bookies, Keith? Are you a conspiracy theorist? If not, what is your logic?

Well as it happens, when, routinely, I open an account, or re-deposit, I always deposit £250.

I see Everton are being backed to win at Stoke this evening and have moved from being slight dogs to decent favs. Which isn't that surprising given that Everton have lost just 2 of 15, unbeaten in their last 6 and have scored 4 goals in each of their last three.
But Stoke are decent at home and have only lost 1 of their 6 home matches with the current top 6 sides (1-3 vs Newcastle).
The value on Everton is probably gone but what about a small bet on Nicky Jelavic @ 5/1 (generally) to be first goalscorer? He has scored 9 in his last 7.
Maybe just £10 for the sweat.
Thanks Dazzy.
We have £10 with Paddy Power @ 5/1. We only got 4/1 on him v Man Utd @ Old Trafford, as I recall!

The 4/1 was for "anytime goalscorer"; this is for "first goalscorer".

Suprised it would be nailed on for a Birmingham manager to go to one of there rivals ? Esp after how it's gone at Villa this season, plus the fact he might get Brummies promoted.

Because the odds compilers at the top 3 we'll be winning from are totally useless. There's at least 10 punters on this forum more clued up than them. That's why they are the quickest to restrict winning punters. The bookmakers know they can't beat the shrewdies so they stop taking their bets. You can add Coral and Betbaldie to that list.
Bet365 and Ladbrokes are much sharper. You can beat them, but you have to be good. My guess is break even long term. That's why they are much slower restricting punters.
Pinny and Betfair are another kettle of fish. Their price is more or less the correct price and we will be beaten up by the juice. Only very very few punters can win on Pinny or Betfair.
