Good morning.

Does anyone know how our "over 2.5 centuries" bet in the Jones-Carter game ended, please?

Did we scoop, or poop?

you asked the same question yesterday. this was your response when you got the answer

Yay! Our first win in May!

We only had a losing streak of 3, but it still plays with the mind.

and this was today's response

Daily Summary, 8.30am Thursday 3rd May

The numbers in may continue to lack lustre, but we have not really gone to war yet.

We made a nice £55 on henrik's "centuries" bet in the Jones Carter game - Sandy is a quality stats speciality act - but lost £50 on the Muamba Moment, which jusy never happened at all, & a tenner on a gee-gee from horsey that either finished 2nd last, or 5th, depending how full you like to keep your life glass. So, all square on the day, bar a fiver.

We have, however, got quite a lot of money invested in this weekend, with more to place, so Saturday will be a big day for us. Details will be posted nearer the time, or can be seen on the spready if you care to have a peruse.

We missed a Deano Basketball winner, too, my bad, a shame, as the basketball figures look bad, & that would have helped a little.

We have an interest in Basingstoke in the conference play offs, & that did not start as well as hoped, but that resumes on Saturday, too.

Today, I'll be taking up Tighty's cricket bet, details later. And yes, I know it is going to proverbially piss with rain in London today.

Seems like we will be increasing our 2000 Guineas interest, too, as apparently we need to back two Frenchies. That's called running bad I think, everyone knows Frenchies are site at poker & horseracing, & it must be true, as I read it on 2+2.

Scotty2hatty posed us a Greyhound Derby dilemma, but I'd like us to have an interest, so some investment is imminent there.

I think there were a few other tips put up yesterday, I'll have a read through shortly.

Yup, pretty stupid to have forgotten that, I realised it almost as soon as I asked the question.

Whats coming up today?

Nothing that I am aware of, except Tighty's cricket bet is supposed to commence, though the weather forecast in London is not conducive to cricket.

Thursday, of course, is PL Darts night, which comes from Birmingham this week, so we can expect a refined audience. At presbnt, we have no interest in tonight's Darts.

Note that I will be unable to place any bets between 6pm & shortly after midnight, as I shall be sharing a studio for 6 hours with none other than Stapes, aka Joe Stapleton, aka twojacksjoe. Epic spammage that.

Amy Weaver ‏ @amyweaverracing

I'm afraid it is lashing it down in Newmarket. #Guineas #softground The 2yos will need rubber rings when breezing tomorrow.

Definitely worth backing Doobs's pair of Frenchies.

Also, Moonstone Magic in the 1000G must be worth a tickle.

Will deal with this shortly Keith, thanks.

The prices have moved significantly from when I bet. Abtaal is down close to 9 and French fifteen is about 13.  I have them at 14s and 17s.  Also Top Offer has drifted noticeably.  Part of my original reasoning was that this horse was too short. Maybe I should just have laid that?! Anyway I think we are now in small bet territory rather than big bet.

Today's two LVCC games are already well advanced

Latest scores

Wednesday, 2 May 2012
LV County Championship - Division One
Lancashire: Yet to bat
Nottinghamshire: 123-8 (66.4 overs)

Warwickshire: 24-4 (14.4 overs)
Durham: 163 (50.3 overs)

The combination of weather, underprepared pitches and nerw regulations contnues to wreak havoc.

Tomorrow's match is the one I have been waiting for

Middlesex v Worcs at Lords

The pitches at Lords so far this year have been horrendous, a function of under-preparation due to the weather

In the games against Surrey and Durham respectively:

Middlesex 256 & 106 beat Surrey 222 & 137 by 3 runs  an average of 18 runs per wicket

Middlesex 188 & 179 drew with Durham 238 & 82-6 an average of 19 runs per wicket

Both games were weather affected, the Durham game lost six sessions to the game and almost produced a result

For this game Worcs are one of the weaker teams, and their strength is in an individual called Alan Richardson, the Cliff Gladwin of his generation

Richardson was named as one of Wisden's five cricketers of the year this year. A mid 30's workhorse, he will seam it in these conditions and take wickets

He has taken 12 wickets in just under three innings in his last two games

2/23, 2*    Worcs    v Notts    Worcester    26 Apr 2012    First-class
6/47, 0*, 4/81    Worcs    v Surrey    The Oval    19 Apr 2012    First-class

However the Middlesex Side can

a) be considered to be a stronger batting side and

b) Has seam bowling in depth with Steven Finn, Corey Colleymore and Toby Roland-Jones

(Chris Rogers (c) Gareth Berg Corey Collymore Joe Denly Neil Dexter Steven Finn Dawid Malan Tim Murtagh Ollie Rayner Sam Robson Toby Roland-Jones John Simpson (wk) Andrew Strauss is the squad)

The weather forecast for the next four days has rain for tomorrow morning, then a dry three days

Not so bad

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/2643743

I expect a definite result, and I think it will be another low-ish scorer

I would like to pick a winner, rather than lay the draw, but to do so you are risking your side losing the toss and being put in on a lively one

However I put a clear advantage towards Middlesex in bowling depth

You can currently back Middlesex at 11/8 on Betfair

http://beta.betfair.com/cricket/competition?id=863879

Each and every fixed odds bookie has them 8/13 or so

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/domestic/county-championship-division-one/middlesex-v-worcestershire/winner

Downscaling bet-size because the losing of a toss can equalise things, strongly recommend snapping up the 11/8 on Middlesex on Betfair up to £50.

Morning Tighty.

Firstly, note the price, as pointed out, is 8/13, not 11/8. Still a recommend?

I planned to go with this, even though I expect today’s play to be lost to the weather.

Would you advise doing it now, whilst the price remains as is, or leave it until tomorrow, when the price may change due to a shortened game?

Current prices are…..

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/domestic/county-championship-division-one/middlesex-v-worcestershire/winner

Personally, I’m inclined to go with it now, but it’s your shout. The intention is to bet £130 to win £80, but ONLy if you think 8/13 is value.

The decision is yours.

So, is the 8/13 reasonable value, (you had originally assumed 11/8), & if so, should we bet now, or wait until tomorrow?

Ok..we goota get this NBA on the road...

clippers are at memphis tonight in game 2..the memphis grizzlies let a big lead go in the first game to lose by a point so both teams will be fired up for this one...

Memphis are still big favourites but as i stated before they are known to grind out results and are very difficult to beat..their offense is solid not explosive and they usually play good D.

Clippers with CP3 and the dunk machine that is Blake Griffin will never be far away

out of their last 19 wins Memphis they have won by 8 points or less on 14 occassions .... should be a close one and i like

LA clippers + 8.5 for a nitty 1.61 on Bet365..( prob get a better price elsewhere )

For the record, Dean posted this up yesterday, & I totally missed it. It was a winner, if I have translated his Post correctly.

Memphis Grizzlies 105
Los Angeles Clippers 98

A tenner on each seem reasonable, or a shade more?

The current Betfair price is 5/4 (draw offered too). That would be my selection

At Lords, it is dry and the covers are being removed. Certainly bowling conditions, but there is the facility to play under lights if the rain holds off sufficiently

Any play today is a bonus. The forecast for Fr-Sun is dry and I think it would get a result in three days anyway

Just today, funnily enough I am super sub as the person rota'd in presumably took one look at the forecast...

The Oval tomorrow for semi bish bash bosh (Leisure)

I am updating at the weekend, so its tricky to get the time to make a proper commitment of this "work"
