Poland v Greece

It was Horneris research that got me onto this, and I am not claiming any edge

but....

Poland are, on all recent competitive form, a poor team. In 2010 WC Qualifying in a Group with Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, Northern Ireland and San Marino, Poland finished in 5th place only ahead of San Marino, with a record of 3 victories 2 draws and 5 losses.

In their four warm up friendlies their results are 0-0,1-0,1-0 v Portugal, Latvia and Slovakia. Beating Andorra 4-0 is irrelevant.  Did not concede a goal but haven't played a competitve game for 18 months

Lewandoski is their main scoring threat, and they are at home

Greece beat Croatia to top their qualifying group, unbeaten in ten games. Conceded only 5 goals

They are not a dynamic side, but they tend to rely on their unity, teamwork and defensive discipline. Granted, they do not give much away, but by the same token they don’t a great deal to offer going forward either. They have the ability to grind out results and that is going to be the basis of their success. They themselves are on a pretty strong run of form, as they have not lost in their last ten competitive internationals, and they last tasted competitive defeat at the 2010 World Cup finals against Argentina. Greece held out for a 0-0 draw in their most recent meeting with Poland back in March of last year. A draw is completely on the cards here, given the situation and the standings of the two sides.

The imperative in these first games, in three match groups, is not to lose the first game. I will try to do the research, but intuitively draw incidence in major championship group games is high. Greece don't concede many. Poland don't concede or score many.

I like the look of

Unders on the goals  Under 2 at 11/8 SportingBet

No goalscorer 6/1 Ladbrokes

The Draw 23/10 BetVictor

Totally happy to be overruled etc, but if you want an interest on the first game, a snoozefest looks a possibility to me

No, he has been offered a contract though.

If he turns it down, it will be because a bottom half prem side comes in for him, I suppose

oooh, how exciting, we MIGHT have a bet!

Clarify, please, are you suggesting a little on all three suggestions (maybe £50 each), or that we lump on just one of them, which would, I guess, be the "unders"?

£50 on all three would be jolly exciting, but we might get told off by the Elders.

Wot yOu fink, met?

Thanks metttttt.

Something for an interest, £30 on each say

Then just sit back and wait for three goals in the first 15 minutes

As I say, there might be better views or bets out there. Happy to step aside for those

liking tighty's tip. greece have taken only 3 forwards to the tournament, they have a grand total of 2 international goals between them

and as stated lewandowski is the main polish threat but great player as he is he's hardly prolific internationally

OK, bugger it, let's see if we can continue our fine run, & set fire to another £90, and don't forget, gatters (who "likes") gave us one which we missed. Time to get even with him.

Off to get on, Bookies beware.

Apparently he plays in the Sheringham "hole", so I'd submit the following entry by the Drifters:

Kerza at the back post
With his movement he reminds us of a young Teddy
Russia's leading poacher, what an eye!
Boosting blondites' bankrolls, what a guy!
Oh it's Kerzakov the legend at the back post for the win.

Hark the Andy Carroll sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"
Downing wide and Welbeck wild
Fans and Press reconciled
Joyful Roy Hodgson does rise
Plays the long ball from the skies
When Stevie G proclaims:
"Scott Parker is the best of men"
Hark! The Andy Carroll sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

I suspect a Neil Sedaka 'oh caroll' would do the trick there.

morning tikay, just thought id throw my two pennys worth in for the speedway this weekend whilst i had chance, i know you never backed my last bet last week which was good anyway because it was rained off so would of been a money back job anyway, so here goes, its the speedway gps again this weekend and it the turn of the danes so the danish gp, i have been having a look at a few stats online with interest and have come up with danish star nicki pedersen as  my main pic to win the weekends fixture , he is in tremendous form bagging a 15 point maximum midweek for his sweedish team indianerna, at the last gp in sweeden he was top scorer in the heats scoring 15 out of 15 points before suprisingly fallen short in the semi finals, the gp before in prague 2 weeks previous he won, hes so bang in form and being danish everybody in the stadium rooting for him i believe he is a standout bet, another fact is hes also the track record holder around the parken arena, hes finished on the podium in 3 of the last 5 gps there also, oh and best of all hes available at 4/1 with yours truly sky bet Smiley im gonna have a little flutter and i hope you will join me and i can finally grab a little win for you , good luck if you play along , big tadge !!!!!!
