Euro2012 Finalists Virtual Bet.

I believe that the first thing that needs to happen is for Spain to win their group today. If they come second they would end up with a semi-final against Germany assuming both teams got that far.

The current best odds for this are 1.21 on Betfair so I have invested ten groats on this.

It was a close run thing but we got there when Jesus Navaz scored in the 88th minute for Spain.
We now have 12 groats (after Betfair commission).

The next game for this "accumulator" is on Friday when Germany meet Greece.
Germany are currently 1.17 on Betfair to qualify (also StanJames and Ladbrokes).
I'll wait to see if the odds improve before re-investing my 12 groats.

Even if it was a great week with 3 full days of superb golf, that last day is quite disappointing. That deep typical San Francisco Fog killed my game. I didn't see the shots as I'm used to, couldn't feel the distance with that cold humid air reducing the ball flight. No spin, bouncing on the green, too long at the first, bogey, too short at the second, bogey, too short at the third , bogey, spinning at the fourth, bogey! Long putt for birdie on the fifth, but I was completely lost in my feeling. Webb Simpson at the other hand played here the US Amateur in 2007 and he told me that he's used to these conditions. And he makes a hell of a round! Well played and a win fully deserved.
It's difficult right now but I need to only capitalize on the positive aspects that were so numerous and forget that last day! Mich, Vince, Bob Rotella, and Dave were unanimous more than positive and happy about what I learned and how I played this US Open, so that's surely what I have to do, even if the taste is bitter right now...

My predictions gone well so far, but of course, I think we all thought the outcome was going to be like that.

But a question in this thread, just because this thread is so popular, what on earth is the group all about with regards to who fininshes where? Italy was winning and the other game was drawing, then Italy was somehow top, as miscalculation by me. I understand it works on results, but was confused when it was 3 way.

I got an email from William Hill to say tomorrow Wayne Rooney to score (anytime) and England to win is 4/1 with them.

Daily Summary, as @ 08:25, Tuesday June 19th.

In the football Italy qualified from group C but Croatia fell by the wayside. Any result was possible until the very end. This also signalled the end for Fred's bet on Srna as top Croatia goalscorer.
           
hector62 gave us another fine rugby league outsider recommendation but eventually Leeds squeaked home against Wakefield to spoil things.

All in all, a few more backward steps.

What's coming up?

Euro2012 continues with England v Ukraine and Sweden v France. Fred would like Carroll to play and score for England. Also Benzema to score a few for France.

Fred also needs the West Indies to beat England in the 2nd ODI - very unpatriotic. The weather seems set fair so let's hope for a good game.

Royal Ascot also starts today but we have no investments in that, yet.
