I'm afraid our Baseball bet went south, we lost 3-1.

Arguing balls? Shocking.

It would made a slight difference because he was in a important slot in the line up, and getting chucked out for arguing for some reason happens a lot in baseball
In terms of the bet, still think it was a excellent one, just didnt go our way this time round

Had a small bet today on England vs SA- A 50 to be scored market. I had backed no 50. The game was rain reduced, a 50 was scored. I'd checked the rules at 6:30 to see they state;

"A Fifty to Be scored in the Match
The following minimum number of overs must be scheduled, and there must be an official result (Duckworth - Lewis counts) otherwise all bets are void, unless settlement is already determined. For settlement purposes any batsman’s score of 50 or above will count.   

Twenty20 Matches - The full 20 overs for each team.   
One Day Matches - At least 40 overs for each team. "

The bet was settled a loser. If anyone can understand the previous rule, should this mean we back every possible rain affected game. It would mean i got 11/4 on a game likely to be rain affected, about someone scoring 50. As an aside William Hill state, if the game is reduced by 3 overs or more, then the bet is void. Sigh.

We made a £60 loss yesterday.

One new bet completed, (Baseball), which lost, so it cost us £60. We were long overdue some Baseball setbacks, so no complaints.

We placed no less than 7 new bets yesterday, only the Baseball bet completed, the balance were....

Catriona Matthew, £10 EW @ 25/1, Ricoh Ladies Golf Open, Ralphy.

Wakefield to beat Leeds, £20 @ 4/1, hector.

Wakefield - Leeds draw, £5 @ 25/1, hector.

Tiernen-Locke to win Stage 5, Tour of Britain, £5 @ 16/1, Tonji.

Seemingly it was Banzai day. We just need to get one of those 6 home to turn a nice profit. Sounds so easy.

The Ladies Golf began at first light today, Miss Matthew got off to a fine start, & is level par after 4 holes on a day when scores may well come in high.

What’s coming up?

The historic St Leger meeting continues @ Town Moor, & the following races will be televised today.

Today’s feature is the Park Hill stakes, which  dates back 180 years.

“Park Hill” was the residence of a chap named Tony St Leger, after whom the famous race was named. Nope, I never made that up, it’s true.

The Ladies Golf continues.

NFL is on Sky Sports @ 00130 tomorrow morning, featuring Bears @ the Packers. We have 2 “First TD” Banzais in the game, but nothing else. The Packers are expected to win, I am assuredly assured.

Poker is televised @ 10pm tonight, on SS4, when one Richard Prew will be the Special Guest, & Miss Anna Fowler the Presenter,  on the Sky Poker Show.

I don't understand this rule.  Scheduled does not equal played.  So what are they getting at?  Surely by definition a match which is scheduled to have less than 20 overs is not a T20 match!??

I don't understand this rule.  Scheduled does not equal played.  So what are they getting at? Surely by definition a match which is scheduled to have less than 20 overs is not a T20 match!??

I don't believe that is correct.

Mondays England - SA T20 was, after a rain delay, re-scheduled to be a 5 over match.

Last night's T20 , same two teams, was also rain-delayed, & re-scheduled as an 11 over match.

Bets on the Monday's match were voided as it ended prematurely, "No Result", regular bets on last night's reduced-over game were settled normally.

What exactly does the enboldened part mean insofar as how it affects his bet, & price? What did he actually do?

 With Pinny and most Vegas and Caribeann books you can take 10/11 either side of the handicap, but if you wish to get the stated handicap at 5/6 you can improve by 1/2 pt (hope I made that clear).

 eg Houston are 7 point favourites over Jacksonville this weekend. You can bet 10/11 +7 or 10/11 -7. If Houston win by exactly 7 it will be a push and all bets tie.

 If you wish to take Jacksonville +7.5 at 5/6 or Houston -6.5 at 5/6 you can.

 This is called "buying the hook".

So we get a slightly worse price (5/6 instead of 10/11) but we gain extra "points" value, & we "kill" the draw possibility which would otherwise dilute our value?

So when Phil said "I bought the 1/2 pt with Pinny", he just means he placed the bet that particular way?

And "Caribbean books"? Gaming rooms based "offshore" (but onshore....) in the Caribbean presumably? They just deal in the USA Market, presumably?
