For the record......

Sporting Bet have now clarified the position on those last 4 games.

I attempted a Lucky 15, & this came up.....

Sorry, you cannot place a multiple including these related events.

skybet allowed a lucky 15 on them. In what way are they deemed related?

No idea, it's hard to interrogate an internet page at the same time as eagerly awaiting a Red Card in the game at the City Ground. Which duly arrived. Wink

On the basis that if the Ryder Cup is already decided they may decide together to call the rest of the games ties.....more subtly 8 foot putts will be conceded etc.  The fact that relates them all is the fact that once the cup is won they won't matter as ties.

Mr Tikay. Yesterday I gave you 3 losing bets and much woe has set in. You also appear to have banned me from cake so my ennui is overwhelming. Only another good performance from our Australian smitters has kept me going. I will update the scores when the afternoon match is complete.

Bozo

No woe needed from our Dr Noh & 3G man. You were in VERY good company yesterday, & you must be well proud of 3G.

Bozo? Nah, no Bozo stuff.  We have long memories here, a bad day changes nothing.

Keep those lovely tips coming. Cake will soon be back on the menu.

Viztoria, far and away the most impressive 2yo I've seen this year.

Bit of 25-1 around for next year's 1000 Guineas. She might not want the ground too quick but I'm happy to take the chance.

On the Zona game it deffo stems from Bush having a chance to play when he was considered doubtful but on top of that Zona have placed Beanie Wells on IR too which means they have lost their most experienced rb in the two back tandem with RYan WIliams not having a deal of experience.

I would think another reason is the  ZOna O hasn't put up that many points in their games too so a combo of the two injury situations and taking a td start against a team that hasn't looked prolific before losing their rb.

It looks a messy game to me.

Sadly i'm not optimistic on easy halves here.

Sandy

There were 2 ties on the last day in 2010, and 5 in 2002 (4 in last 5 matches).  Not going to make overs the favourite, but drags the mean up from one tie on the last day to two.

Current best prices on the last 4 matches,

Dufner/Hanson 11/2
Kuchar/Westwood 5/1
Stricker/Kaymer 5/1
Woods/Molinari 11/2

So at least we have got a decent price today.  Weirdly Ladbrokes are still very short though the 3/1 has become 100/30!

Am also on Colsearts, but don't think 2.4 is great value, so not a thread tip.

General distrust of Arizona, "false record", not a lot of offense. Expecting them to mean revert, essentially, and the public isn't focussed on the game so there's no punter wedge driving the price higher.

Neil, I want to recommend a big play on Oakland +7 versus Denver. Can't quite bring myself to do it

(divisional game, big rivals, Denver missing some pieces on defense, McFadden can run all day, Manning generally over-bet and a huge household name that will be backed)

thoughts?

That's one of the two bets I have had plus 7 RIch and mainly for the same reasons as you.

T20WC Report

Australia thrash South Africa

India thrash Pakistan

As we can see from Hector's post above, Australia still in good shape for our Team Sixes bet

Kohli got a big score today and is 3rd on the leading run scorers list

Watson 234
McCullum 190
Kohli 183

We need Watson to fail, and India to go through by beating South Africa

Shane Watson is the leading scorer, wicket-taker, six hitter and has three MOTM awards (so far) in the T20WC

Tomorrow the Pallakelle group comes to its conclusion

West Indies play New Zealand

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/international/twenty20-world-cup/west-indies-v-new-zealand/winner

Sri Lanka play England

http://www.oddschecker.com/cricket/international/twenty20-world-cup/sri-lanka-v-england/winner

Lots of permutations here

Sri Lanka clearly through with a win but England can still go through with a loss if NZ win, depending on net run rate

England win, and they may not go through if WI win, again depending on net run rate

So a tense day ahead

Its tricky to see beyond WI and Sri Lanka wins to be frank, but we will see

Thread needs Malinga wickets and Dilshan sixes. Both have been in short supply

That European win was the thread's most unlikely winner, from where we were entering the latter stages, I would contend

I assume it's a result for the bookies, although maybe not for 2-1 Betfred.

Just a bit - that final hole gave us a huge swing.

We were on Europe to WIN (not retain) and we had Doobsy's "halves" bet.

We did not get out of it, but great damage limitation.
