Almost posted yesterday about Mark Webber to win the Korean GP this weekend was 11/1 yesterday with betvictor, but this thread doesn't have the best luck with F1 so I left it. I had a little bet myself and just saw he took pole this morning and has now shrunk to 3/1! Dont think that is that good value though tbh, think Vettel is stronger. Good luck anyway if anyone got on Webber yesterday

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

Instantly changed to 6.5, which I would argue is still a price worth taking.
Thread has £50 to win 60 King over 6.5 180s v Dolan tonight
tikay to post bet slip.

Looking to follow up Demetrious Johnson's win at UFC 152 with not one, but two, recommendations for tonight's UFC 153. Will post one now, and the other a little later.
The main event sees the #1 P4P fighter Anderson Silva make a cameo appearance in the light-heavyweight division, a division 20lbs above his natural division. This isn't a negative, he has appeared in the LHW division on two occasions previously and in both fights he was able to finish his opponent in the first round - one of those was his memorable demolition of Forrest Griffin, a former LHW Champion.
I'm taking Silva to make it a hat-trick of 1st round wins when he takes on the over-matched Stephan Bonnar at UFC 153 in his homeland of Brazil. Of Silva's 32 career wins, 17 have came in the first round.
Bonnar is a tough, durable guy with a big heart but there is being durable and then there is fighting Anderson Silva. Bonnar absorbs a lot of strikes due to his poor defence and in Silva he is facing the most accurate striker in the entire UFC (67%) and the fighter with the most knockdowns in the history of the UFC (16). Bonnar's strike defence is a rather low 53%.
Silva is going to hit him often and early, likely dropping him and giving Bonnar his first true career (T)KO loss.
Paddy Power go 2/1 Silva to win in the first round, out of line with the rest with Ladbrokes opening at 5/4 and the rest a general 6/4.
Recommend £30 on Anderson Silva to win in the 1st Round v. Stephan Bonnar at UFC 153 - 2/1 @ Paddy Power.

Can't see why bradford city are 10/11 today at home to York
Bradford have won six and lost none of their last 12 league clashes with York City, although the last meeting was in 1996.
York have registered just one win in their last seven league matches (W1
L2).
Bradford have conceded just three goals at the Coral Windows Stadium this season. No other team has a better home defensive record.
No team have been shown fewer yellow cards than Bradford City (11).

I have a college football game I really like tonight. Florida travel to Vanderbilt. Florida had a really good result last week beating BCS candidates LSU and all the talk this week is about how Florida are championship contenders and they certainly played very well last week although it was mainly on defense. Vanderbilt on the other hand are 2-3 but won last week coming off a bye. I think the key to the game however is emotion. This is Vanderbilts biggest game of the season and it will be packed there with 50k home fans. They aren't going to be title contenders but if they hang tough here they will get some credit for their season and maybe even a bowl game. Florida on the other hand had their biggest win of the season and, next week go to South Carolina in a huge game they must win if they are to be considered for the national title game. So for Florida it is a bit of both before and after the lord mayors show in one and this game is just something they need to get through. Fwiw the two teams played last year at the Swamp and Florida only won by five as a 14 point favourite. on the basis of all of that +9.5 Vanderbilt 10/11 is a decent bet i think. Normally I would wait to try and get ten but I have some fairly good info that it won't get there.

Much better performance from MVG tonight. If he takes that form into the Worlds he is a live runner. Also got himself a place in the GSOD by making the final here.

Sports Psychology: Wes Newton - The Justin Pipe Effect!
It's the second round of the World Darts Championships at Alexandra Palace. And the match between Fleetwood's Wes Newton and Taunton's Justin Pipe, is hotting up.
At two sets all, Newton is allowing his irritation at Pipe's slow and deliberate style of play to show. Behind Pipe's back, Newton is tapping his watch, Alex Ferguson style, to let us know that he is unhappy with the West Countryman's speed of play.
Then Newton feigns falling asleep, as his simmering frustration gets the better of him. Of course, with these distractions, the world number five's game suffers, and he crashes out of the tournament.
It's a match he could have won with something to spare. At two-nil up he held all the aces. But the Fleetwood thrower made a big mistake.
He clearly hadn't mentally prepared for the special challenge of playing Justin Pipe. Newton is a fast quick player. Pipe isn't. And Newton cant change the speed Pipe plays at. He has to adjust to it.
That means changing his routine whilst he waits to throw. Slowing himself down and exercising patience. Knowing exactly what to expect and preparing for it.
Newton knows exactly what to expect, but has simply not prepared for it. He has no process to keep his mind engaged whilst he waits to throw. It's almost as if he is bored!
As a result frustration holds sway. What he is feeling on the inside, reveals itself on the outside. Perhaps with it being the World Championships, Newton is simply too fired up. His internal speeds are just too fast for a game against Justin Pipe.
Wes Newton may have the talent to win a World Championships. But he doesn't yet have the mentality. For the mentality of a champion, allows you to find strategies to win against difficult or awkward opponents.
In years to come, perhaps Newton will be thankful for the lessons that defeat against Justin Pipe taught him. But for now, he has to live with the uncomfortable feeling, that with a World Title to fight for, he let undeveloped emotions get the better of him
Another massive mental squiggle against Wes Newton there, found something else to get him beaten/blame tonight. Was rubbing his eye more the further MVG went in front and then at the break stayed on the stage instead of going off. So there cannot have been much wrong with the eye he kept rubbing.
