So we lost our way a little this weekend, my head was a bit all over the place with work & stuff which never helped, so we need to get back on track now.

Monday Night Football returns tonight, & it's a right cracker - Port Vale v Oxford.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-2/port-vale-v-oxford/winner

I'm confident that we must have some Port Vale experts amongst us.

The first leg of the Elite Speedway Final is televised tonight, too, with Swindon outsiders of two to take the Title. The word from the boys is that Swindon can overcome the odds here.  Wink

Current Odds on Betfair
Swindon 1.49
Poole 2.78
Draw 5.00

Swindon are looking for their first Elite League crown in 47 years against Poole who are looking for their 5th in the last 13 years.

Poole has the current World Champion in Chris Holder and Darcy Ward the best non GP rider in the world at 2nd, Kasprzak at 3rd ride (chipping in with an average of 8.39).  Poole have struggled at 4th string all season but there 4th string rider (Pawlicki) is out, so a slight weakening of the Poole linup there, but maybe only 1 point below season average.

Swindon are without Jason Doyle (6.50 av) as he broke his back Saturday night, meaning Simon Stead probably steps up into the main team, this is a significant weakening of the Swindon line up, Swindon’s strength has been in scoring points from the bottom 2 rider’s this season, something that will now be difficult – I don’t think the odds above reflect this change of line up.

Home track advantage for Swindon is worth 6 points give or take, but if both teams ride to average Poole cover this quite easily.  As it is a 2 leg affair the fear is Poole will look to stay in touch and may split the formidable late pairing of Ward and Holder for this 1st leg.
Swindon should be favs, but the Draw and the Poole win are too big in my opinion.

I would push Fred towards  £20 on Poole to win £35.60.

Thats a 123% book youve quoted so doubt any bet would be advisable yet. Wait till the market forms

Thanks Nakor & Mr Dubs.

Watching brief mode engaged.

I actually had "word" for Swindon in this several weeks ago, & Leg One was supposed to be last Monday I believe, which got rained off. However, at the time, Poole had one of their best, or the best, rider injured. Looks like that has flip-flopped now.

There is a Premier League Team playing at home this weekend

Their last 13 home League games have produced the following results

Pld 13 W2 D 5 L6.

They are 1.33 to win on Betfair currently

In traditional markets, priced at 1/3

Name that team.

(and then tell me how they can be 1.33)

correct and correct

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/premier-league/liverpool-v-reading/winner

Reading's last 3 PL away games

2-2 at Swansea

3-2 win at QPR

0-1 at WBA

A bottom six side, no doubt, but not a 9-1 shot with some firepower upfront, I would suggest

Bit of a weird one this, and no recommend as such so just putting it out there for discussion.

Ladbrokes are doing "Buzzword Bingo" on the next presidential debate and list a bunch of words phrases to be said at any time by either person:

http://www.oddschecker.com/specials/politics-and-election/us-presidential-second-election-debate/to-say-at-anytime

Feels like there must be something there to get stuck into....

Aaaah you stole my thunder, I was going to put this one up myself. I've been profitably laying Pool at home since I put up Wigan to win there last season. I think they should be a blind bet lay at home for a while yet.
You put up their last 13 home games but all of last seasons home form was W6 L4 which is bad and this season is even worse at W0 L2 albeit with tough opponents this year so far. But the stats are stark. They have won 6 times in their last 23 home league games. It's appalling and yet they continue to be priced as a big team and apparently being backed by the 'smart money'. But I think they are worse this year and still heavily in transition.
To paraphrase War of the Worlds, 'the chances of Reading winning at Pool are a million to one, they said. But still, they come.'
I'd suggest a War of the Worlds (similar to a banzai!) bet laying Pool and also a small bet on Reading to win.

Pondering a potential recommendation to lay Liverpool for £300 to win £100

Have you got this correct tighty?

I think you may have meant to lay the £100 to win £300.
