Tony Watt just scored Tikay with 3 minutes to go.

Unfortunately BTTS bet looks beat, St Mirren have had a fair few chances but been unable to convert.

Soft/heavy ground at Ascot, course at full width and fresh ground up the far rail...these conditions don't come round very often.

I'm going with low draws in the 27-runner 7f handicap at 4.45. We could get three groups here and the middle of the course is no good.

The three market leaders are drawn 8 or lower but there's an interesting one at a big price in stall 6, Redvers, who's proven over a straight 7f in big fields, handles soft ground and has won here before.

£10 win on betty @ 36, £10 place at 6.6

Chompy.

It comes to something when I need to rely on you to get us out of our hole, but that might just be the Banzai of all time - a 33/1 Chompy winner.

We shall invest. I'm that desperate.

Meanwhile, our Chelsea lay failed in spectacular style, and Palace have it all on to win, 2-2 with 10 minutes to go.

Where's Baldrick?

Any opinions on the upcoming race at Ascot here?

I thought Vow would be the type that would enjoy this kind of surface, but it seems to be regressing after looking promising in first 2 starts.

I'm tempted to give it a go though.  24/1 on Betfair, seems a bit overpriced to me.  Also snapping up some of the place money @ 9/2 and 4/1.

Done.

Hope you get us out of it Mr W.

Redvers, £10 WIN @ 34, £10 PLACE @ 6.23, both Betfair.

PS - How did you get on at Luton in the GUKPT sidey? Did I get a nice bink via you, a'la Thewy & Scotty?
