Betfair choose to take their site down for scheduled maintenance that they alerted us about two days ago.

It was always going to be a rare game where I didn't have a single bet but you'd think midnight on Monday night/Tuesday morning when the NFL Monday Night game starts at 1.20pm would not be as good as 24 hours later.

They really don't think very much about how to run a successful business.

Especially when the fifth day of an England test match was scheduled to be played during that period too.  Just ridiculous imo.  Surely a Tuesday or Weds night would have been better.

Having said that the site went down for a few hours on Thursday night and that wasn't scheduled. I guess we don't know how desperately they need to work on it.

 They are ridiculously incompetent though.

It's like they are wishing a competitor would come along.

Would Fred members be interested in owning a horse for next Flat season? If we could get enough interested it'd be workable I think.

Was hoping to get a list of around ten interested parties - to keep the price sensible - before looking into it further.

So far we have...

Myself
Karabiner
Redarmi
Bigadz
Tal?

Hi Chompy,

Do you have something in mind at the moment?

What price range were you thinking of, I would be interested at the decent  ish quality end but not so much at the winters at Wolvers/Southwell end.

cheers

Agree with Phil.

Don't want to be too pernickety, but who trains it would be important to me too.

All things being equal, I would be interested.

Start a seperate thread ?

Morning Tikay. Been looking at the NBA tonight and the Raptors @ Rockets game as I think there is a lot of value in the early markets in this game.

http://www.oddschecker.com/basketball/nba/toronto-raptors-at-houston-rockets/total-points

Most bookmakers have started this game at around 200 total points with PP being as high as 201.

I suggest O198.5 points with ladbrokes, we already have edge on most other bookmakers and I expect the line to increase throughout the day.

Both defences are relatively bad allowing over 100 points a game on average. Both teams play at a very quick pace and with alot of pick and rolls which niether defence defends against very well.

I would also like to suggest the Rockets -4.5 with ladbrokes also. Most bookies have this game @ -5 which I still think is the good side. As I have said before form is huge in NBA. Raptors are 1-7 on the road and haven't won in 4 whereas the Rockets have won their last 4 at home (inc a 131-103 drubbing of NYK last time out) so they will be high on confidence.

I think ladbrokes are off on both these lines especially the total points line.

GL

I don't have a working ladbrokes account at the minute and am looking to bet these lines. If someone can do it for me that would be amazing, we can use an escrow or whatever and I can ship on stars/ftp/bank np. PM me if anyone can help me out, Cheers!

Thanks very much Tom.

Ladbrokes are deffo a shade out of line here, they go 198.5 at present, others are as much as 2.5 points higher.

Whether this really reps value or not though I really don't know, & whatever way we cut it, we seem to get Basketball wrong every time.

I'm not against either bet, but I need a few other Basketball lads to give their view before we make a decision.

Look, If Dai had won gold and Bradley, jess, Mo, Andy Murray, assorted Paralympians and rowers hadn't we'd be laughing all the way to the shortlist

This is my last word on the subject. Until I win worst bet of the year in the thread awards, when I will indulge in a spot of the Gwyneth Paltrow's.

You are not the favourite to win that.
