If they lose they'll stay at the same price

surely they will further drift if they lose and seattle win.

7/1+ is so big, can't envisage them drifting more than a fraction.

6/1 tops with the bookmakers, that seems more than right price.

If they lose to the Pats (without serious injuries obv), I'll be having my max on them if they are underdogs at Seattle.

+fkin1, i can't see it though!

We have LAID India.

Not sure who owns this - probably 50/50 between Tighty & Doobs?

We have LAID India @ 2.52 with Betfair. (£50, liability £76)

"No QB since at least 2008 has a higher Total QBR than Colin Kaepernick through first four career starts."

Smiley

This week is the big test.

Patriots away.

I am stunned the 49ers have drifted since we backed them.

Fair enough, they lost to the Rams, but Kaepernick has been outstanding and Atlanta have proved they will be the weakest number 1 seed in years. (and they are still just about catchable - Falcons could easily lose 2 of 3, but we would need 49ers to win out if that happens.)

I think if the 48ers win on Sunday, they'll go favourites for the whole shebang.

If they lose they'll stay at the same price.

I suggest topping up slightly at above 7/1 on Betfair.

Thanks Keith.

This (combined with the original) is now the biggest bet Fred has ever made........

Our original bet was £150 @ 6.8, & we have now added.....

£100 @ 8.4, San Francisco 49-ers.

It would be quite a way to celebrate our 1st Birthday.

ON

 San Francisco 49ers 8.4 £100.00 £740.00

If we put £1 on at 3.5 we get £3.5 back 28.574% of the time, so our expectation is £1.

As I said this morning they've drifted because they are underdogs at New England then play Seattle next week

Lose both and Seattle likely win the division (Seattle have Buffalo this week)

I personally don't think they'll lose both, but its a crucial fortnight

If they lose both these games, will they still, can they still make the play offs?(or have they already?)

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/standings/?eref=sinav

Nothing is guaranteed yet for the 49ers, Atlanta are the only NFC team guaranteed a play off spot

They would have to get extremely unlucky not to get at least a wild card (would need teams like the Redskins and the Bears to wn their last 3, which is unlikely)

the key though is to win the division, as wild cards have to play away. If this involves Green Bay, it can be in nasty weather

the current seeding is

1 Atlanta
2 49ers
3 Green Bay
4 Giants
5 Seattle
6 Bears

though this is lkely to change

In the play offs 3 hosts 6, 4 hosts 5

winners go to 1 and 2 in the next round

not sure who saw my tip last week but today is the day

Bradford vs Arsenal

Arsenal -1      19/20

Arsenal -2 goals @ 12/5

Arsenal -3 goals @ 6/1

Arsène Wenger determined that Arsenal's Capital One Cup trip to Bradford City is taken seriously
Arsène Wenger will take the unusual step of fielding a virtual full strength team at Bradford in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night as Arsenal try to take a major step towards ending their eight-year trophy drought.

previous years, Arsenal have generally treated the quarter-final stage of the League Cup as an opportunity to rest key players and give younger members of the squad valuable first-team experience.

Wenger, though, is confident that his best players can perform against League Two Bradford and still be sufficiently recovered for the next Premier League fixture, against Reading on Monday.

Olivier Giroud, who has a back injury, is the only player being ruled out from the squad that beat West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.

Any team news?

Arsenal: Szczesny, Sagna, Vermaelen, Mertesacker, Gibbs, Wilshere, Coquelin, Ramsey, Cazorla, Podolski, Gervinho.

Daily Summary as at 1900, Tuesday 11th December

We made a profit of £24 yesterday.

Very efficient, too – one bet, one win, £24 in the bank. Do that every day for a year, & we have nearly £9,000 in the bank. Simple.

The win was on the London Chess Classic, by Tal, & rarely has a little bet (£30 @ 5/6, to win £24) yielded more fun than this did. Tally ho!

Today’s photos are a shade off-beat, as yesterday was a quiet day.  All Fred relevant in some way though.

Tighty, (or anyone....),

I was reading up on one of the NFL Teams on Sunday - I forget which, but no matter - & under "Rivalries" it mentioned another NFL Team, but added "under the current NFL roster, thry are only scheduled to meet once every 4 seasons".

How does that work?

A team plays 16 games a season

the three other teams in their divsion, home and away= 6 games

four teams in another division in the same conference, two home and two away= 4 games

The division they face rotates, so you play each div in your conference every three years

four team from another division in the other conference, two home and two away = 4 games

rotation, so they play one of the other conference divisions each year, then not for another 4 years

Final 2 games, against teams that finished in the same place in their division in the other two divisions in their conference

eg 49ers finish top in West, Giants top in East...if their divisions are not scheduled next year they would play each other anyway

16 games

So a big rivalry might be say Pittsburgh v Philly, but they play in different conferences, AFC and NFC, so would only play each other once every 4 years.....

Leitch gables, oooohhhh......

The pneumatic lady? Mere will slap you for asking that. It is a VERY famous tennis player (female.....) imitating another even famouser & pneumaticer lady tennis player. It happened this week, in fact. Want more clues?

The boxing at WHL?

WHL has often been used for Boxing, this was the first one I think.....

http://www.britishpathe.com/video/londons-first-open-air-boxing-contest

Much later, one of THE most famous boxing matches that ever took place in the UK was at WHL, probably the saddest & most tragic I ever saw, Eubank v Watson.

The WHL & Spurs theme (& Mr Berbatov) was dedicated to yesterday's Bet owner, Mr Tal. Just a way of saying "thank you" really.

I admit some of the links are tenuous in the extreme, but I just like an excuse to upload photos, they give me (& hector) hours of memory-jogging fun.

Lovely, thank you.

At the risk of howls of laughter, "conferences" & "divisions"?
