I fell asleep watching the India-Pakistan B20 thing, I only saw the 1st Innings, India got 3 x sixes, & Pakistan had an easy chase, or so it seemed.

We needed Pakistan to get SIX sixes, which was hopelessly optimistic, but I see they managed FIVE of the buggers.

Anyway, we fell one short. Can't believe that very tall bloke did not get a few.

It's a bit difficult to hit sixes sitting in the dugout.

The bet nearly got home. There was another "six" signalled by the umpire that was re-classified as a four after review by the TV umpire.

I'm sure he "stood" the occasional one himself.

"occasional" as in "Chompy occasionally begs for a chop in poker Tourneys"  I would assume.

Seriously, it is hard to imagine all this without thoughts of grimmery.

She bets £10,000 a pop (in the 1930's) 10 or 12 hours AFTER the race result was known, & he knows the horse got beat.

What is a man supposed to do?

She presumably got the best prices, too.

Times have changed a little in the intervening 80 years.

Well if they had listened to hector, they would have moved him up the order.

I went to bed thinking about that expression sitting in the dugout, it seemed terribly incongrous.

And then the penny dropped. Cricketers in a dugout?

Good grief. Only in Bish Bash Bosh. Is nothing sacred?

Cricketers should sit in a pavilion, with home made sarnies, cakes, lemonade & ice-cream.

Instead, it is a dugout, all crammed closely together so the TV cameras can get an inclusive shot, with an advertising wall behind them.

What would Bertie Wooster have thought?

I am pretty sure that Father Gascoigne, newly amongst us & nearly as posh as Tal, would not approve.

Well.. he can't nick too much, as she expects to get accomodated when she picks a winner ~ the bookies would soon turn it away if only the winners were coming their way, so Mr Agent either has to pay her some winners out of pocket or just stand the occasional loser rather than giving the bookie the cream.

Daily Report as at 0855, Wednesday December 26th

We lost - yes, those words again - £31.50 yesterday & Sunday.

Our over 8.5 sixes bet failed by the narrowest of margins, &, MereObservant informs us, by the dastardly means of a TV Review.

We also had the third & final leg of hector's Yuletide Gamble, which truly was a gamble, as the final leg was Villa to beat Chelsea @ 9/1. Villa lost 8-0, & were lucky, as Chelsea missed a pen.

Never mind, all is not lost. Today we have a Kempton Park Banzai, &, wait for it, a HT-FT bet on Peterborough owned by none other than Chompy.

Having moved smoothly through the loss barriers in December of £100, £200, £300, & with £400 hoving into sight, we choose this time to accept a bet from Chompy?

I'm suprised Leeds are over 3/1 at Forest today. (31/10 with Pinnacle)

I think Forest are inconsistent at home. Leeds have picked up 4 wins in their last 5 league games. I have them shorter than 31/10.

Perhaps a small bet - £20?

Its an early kick off at 12.15.

As long as Poshies have the two George's (Body and Thorney) we're capable of beating anyone, but alas I don't think that will be the case for much longer.

Good feeling about today, though, get some punting money to stick on Toadfish in CBB!

William Hill have the Priority Offer up, the one that horsey mentioned.

The Offer is Long Run to finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd, @ Evens.

It is restricted (well for me, anyway) to £10.

If you wish to get more on, they will Offer another £40 on the same bet at 4/9.

We will take the £10 @ Evens for Fred, down to horsey.

Thanks Rick.

The Pinnacle price contracted to 37/13 whilst I was Offline, & to cut a long story short, I've taken a fractionally worse price with BetVictor, 14/5.

We have £20 @ 14/5, BetVictor, Leeds to beat Forest.

Only seven runners now in the Xmas hurdle.

A little bit scuppering my ew bet, as Arsene would say.
