i have no taken some cover on taylor

one reason only the price i never though tyalor would be an evens shot against mvg in a final (i thought he would be 4-6 at best) laddies laid some evens last night

i have had a smidgen more at 4-5 with hills this morning (better price than betfair after commision)

so currently i have van gerwen winning me 480 (i actually got 66-1 for a tenner so thanks bazza)

and taylor wins me 180

i have a feeling one of the firms may offer some kind of special today or tommorow with cheltenham being off this is now going to be one of the first biggest events of the punting year so i am saving a bit of my taylor cover for the hope of this.

Fwiw I like Palace too at that price.  One decent rule of thumb with a lot of these kind of bets should be that we can get an outlier price which this is.    It is a very difficult thing to beat but if you are getting prices that are slightly out of line then you can eek out an edge.  For years this was basically my entire strategy.  I would formulate opinions and then look for a price.  If every price was pretty much the same I would leave it alone but if I could find someone offering a juicy price i would bet.  Nowadays my approach is a bit more sophisticated out of neccesity because i cannot get a lot of the prices but Fred still can largely and it is the easiest way to a profit.

Also lets not forget Keiths suggestion on Brighton.  They are available at 15/8 with pinnacle and that seems fair to me.

Morning reds, & thanks for the feedback.

We WILL be backing Palace today, very shortly in fact. Not for big numbers, but maybe £30 or £40.

Keith's suggestion for Brighton? If you refer to their away game to Ipswich tomorrow, we are already on, for a rather scary £80.

Unfortunately, we were maybe too quick out of the blocks for once, because we were on before Brighton got beaten up badly at home the other night, so we only got 13/8. The Recommend was at 7/4.

Just a note to thank the lads for Updating the Darts game here whilst it was in progress. I was working, but I could sneak a brief look during the hourly 5 minute break, so I was able to follow matters.

I saw several references to some bad blood at the end of the Taylor RvB match - what was that about, please?

not quite sure

some reports suggest barney was clapping some fan giving taylor some stick who then got chucked out. Barney was basically a non trier until a break when nearly out then some slyvie loving (or something) saw him come out with his head nodding in a good way

very strange game in a lot of ways

Assuming the prices stay roughly "as is", what would be the ideal position that you would try to achieve?

It was indeed a very odd game. We'll never know what the silliness at the end was all about but we do know that Taylor has still never lost a World Championship semi final (after something like 23 of them).

Our Ryu must now take on M.Bison to be crowned champ.

i am quite happy with what i have now tbh

i still want mvg as a much bigger winner if there are no specials available then i will probably have another £40 quid on taylor or so at current prices

It was indeed a very, very strange game last night. Taylor has never liked it up him and has made a rod for his own back imo.

Fwiw I'm not covering pre-match tomorrow but will stick up a chunk @ 1.3 on MVG as insurance should he get the upper hand early.

For Tuesday, Palace to beat Wolves at home at evens seems a steal.

They have had their worst two performances in their last two games, as said by their manager "the two worst performances of the season have been the two last ones. It can't get any worse". Not a promising statement from a manager. Karl Henry too has recently denounced the team as being 'rubbish'. In their last away game they beat Blackpool 2-1 and if not for a stupendous display from their keeper they probably should have lost.

Palace on the other hand have been in pretty good form. We drew our last game to Forest in the dying minutes after playing some good football, some Forest fans on here have even said we were one of the best sides to grace their pitch this season. The loss to Cardiff, could easily have been a win if we finished two up before half time which we deserved but we crumbled. And for the previous three draws, 2 of them we were in winning positions but were unlucky for one reason or another and the 0-0 to Hull at their ground was a solid result considering they are second.

I just think this game is set up for a trouncing, as long as we can keep 11 players on the field, we should hammer Wolves and I would price this up more like 1.8 in Palace's favour. Definitely not the right call here by the bookmakers who have looked at the form sheet and have priced it up probably solely on that.

Would suggest whatever is half your max bet on this. Oddly enough a lot of bookmakers have gone with 1.8-1.9 and Hills is the current standout and I think that won't last on there too much longer to be frank.

I can't see Ba in Coral's list of players to leave/stay with their clubs.

He was on the list when I posted? Haven't checked this morning.

Re jigging the odds or taken him off?

Morning Waz.

Sorry I missed that yesterday, though I admit, I don't much like those sorts of markets, & the likelihood is that we would have been restricted to £10 or £20. Even so, it would have been a free bet, as it was nailed-on imo.

I'd be surprised if the market is still up this morning, given the overnight goss.

it isn't on the site anymore you're right.  My brother got £125 on it before it went!

Pretty sure I'll be staying in with MVG and a kebab. Anyone know what time the final starts?
