I've lost count of how many times when someone has called my shove & I turn over my two aces

Here's one for you: MBN

"A" & "in my" are correct, the other two words are not.

Oddly, the two missing words have exactly the same number of letters respectively, & start with the same letter, as "sword" & "side".

Next clue - Limping.

So far we have....

"A  ***** in my ****"

Also, saying they start with the same letter is a SOTBO

Daily Summary, as @ 0900, Monday  January 7th

PROFIT on Month = £325.60

Ryan Moloney to win CBB?  Knew you'd come to your senses!

Damn you Doobsy, damn you.

I will NOT be watching it, trust me.

I think you must have backed Chompy's tip, which was Rylan.  My tip for Ryan was met with indifference.

Well I was rather hoping everyone would forget about CBB, & it would never foul this thread again, but in a moment of madness I tried bluffing Chompy, & that was a mistake, he does not have a pass button.

There is even a whole CBB thread, ffs! What is the matter with people?

http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=59950.0

One last attempt.

The spreadsheet says you backed Ryan, looking at the odds, I think you backed Rylan.

Stone. Shoe?

Correct.

"A stone in my shoe".

Herbie is often known as "ASIMS". Wink

There is even a book by that title.

How can you call yourself a bookmaker and then ban people from betting with you because you keep cocking up?

You're either doing a good job and should therefore encourage winners to come back and gamble so they give it all back (à la a casino) or you are doing a rubbish job and should therefore try harder.

What other walk of life would that happen in?

I'm a little sad, but only for selfish reasons, & I'm certainly not going to make a hoohah about it. It is my (painful) experience that when folks get banned by a Poker Site, Poker Forum or Bookie, they get a bit uppity, but that makes no sense at all to me, as personally why would I want to do business, or interact with, any organisation or Company that does not welcome my involvement or custom?

Bookmakers are accountant driven, quite right too, as they are using Shareholders money, so I can perfectly understand the logic. Dislking it does not make it wrong.

I was told a tale by a mate last night of a chap who can get £30,000 on with Ladbrokes for ANY bet he wants. How so? He is a Premier League footballer, & probably drops a 6 figure sum per annum. If Laddies were your company, if you managed them, or you were a Shareholder of theirs, you'd agree with them managing & culling their Client-Base the most optimal way, surely?

I've never understood how bookies should be allowed to get away with this, and I certainly wouldn't try to defend them for doing it.  Similarly for casinos who treat being talented at blackjack as cheating.

If I was a shareholder of a big retail chain, I wouldn't want to ban those customers who only shop with them in the January sales or who are particularly adept at spotting a bargain, and there'd be an outcry if anyone tried to do this.  This is no different to what the bookies do with shrewd punters, so why condone it?

At the end of the day, they're the one's who set the prices for people to bet.

I'm afraid we will never agree on that.

Customers have rhe right to choose with whom they do business, & I do not see why any Business should not have the same right. Life is a two way street. Why should it be a one-way street, where the Client can do what he wants, & the Business can't? The policy may be mistaken, but that is not the point. It is their money, & business, & they should be able to do as they wish.

The only part I agree with is they if they offer ool prices, well they should adjust the prices, or they will get beaten up by the punters. Better to correct the prices than ban those who take advantage, but that is their absolute right, & I'm pretty sure their major shareholders would approve. It is, after all, their money that they invest in the Company, & they have a right to expect the Business to use it wisely.

We could debate this forever, & I'm happy so to do, but probably best to start a seperate thread if you wish to, as it may go from debate to argument, & get a bit "hot", & I'm keen to keep the pleasing & relaxing ambience here!

I think it's been done to death on here before, and nothing's going to change.  Was more an observation than anything else, and not really intended to generate a massive debate.

I do like Pinnacle's approach on this though.  They advertised that they welcome 'shrewd money' as it challenges them to sharpen their lines.  Reality might be different (i.e. there's probably a ton of 'my account was closed by Pinny' claims on the web) but it's nice to believe that this ideal exists.

Feel free to move my posts elsewhere though if you like.  No problems with that.

Be pretty odd if Mere had made a mistake on the Spready, in fact it'd be a first.

Guess I'd better go find Chompy's Post.

Sometimes the obvious is just staring you in the face.

No more tiddle-arsing, £100 on Rylan to win CBB @ 7/4. Take your pick from Spoilsports, Baldfred, Sportingbet and VCDon'tbet.

I wouldn't want to lay odds against already. The opposition is weak at best.

Phew.......

What?

How do you guys find these things?!

Sadly, I must assume I am too late, but thank you anyway.

Good luck with your bet, though.
