The most ridiculous piece of defending ever for Southampton to take the lead at Old Trafford.

Fwiw I thought at 2.40 Arsenal were close to bet of the season.  I still thought they were value at 2.20 although obviously less so.

A good game to watch, most enjoyable. Sure as hell would not have enjoyed it as much if I'd had a bet.

Haven't seen it, but a friend at the game reckons Bale's equaliser was worth the ticket alone.

For me, the word that tempered all the intrigue was equaliser

Suarez now on 17 PL goals.

Three more & the bet is home.

Big point for Reading that.

Interesting

Readin 1/2

Villa and QPR 8/13

Wigan 11/8

Southampton 7/4

With QPR 4 points adrift at the bottom, some recovery is built into their price vis a vis Reading

Just keen to get views:

In the bad old days pre Colin K the primary wide receiver for the 49ers was Vernon Davis. Since  Sir Colin came in the receiver of choice has been Michael Crabtree,

Outside of those two Randy Moss gets a few balls aimed in his direction and Delaney Walker has been a lot more popular, also since came in.

Some guys I consider shrewd are on Walker over 20.5 and are looking to play Walker 1st TD.

Does anyone think the Ravens will be expecting Crabtree to be the man and therefore Davis may start to get the service he was getting in the days before or will the switch from Davis continue?

On the Ravens rushing front...how balanced will be the division of hand-offs between Pierce, Rice and Leach?

A little one-sided as authorities go, but is this any help?

Thanks for that Tal. Interesting last para:

“The [Green Bay] Packers got in trouble because they double-teamed him in man concepts and Kaepernick ran,” said Greg Cosell of NFL Films. “So you have to decide, how are you going to deal with Crabtree if you’re the Ravens? He also lines up all over the formation, so he’ll line up outside. He’ll line up in the slot. They don’t move people around. Whoever is on him is going to be on him. But he’s a tough cover.”

Obviously Lord Colin got to run a lot against the Packers because they focussed in other areas. The Falcons put their efforts into stopping that. The number for Kaepernick rushing yards is pretty volatile. I've seen a 41.5 and a 51.5.

Where do people see that one?

I've not got the expertise of the Elders on this, but I can't remember seeing a situation where there was this level of triple threat: the standard play of Gore rushing. If you stop that and cover the middle, Lord Colin gives the play action and goes outside. If you bolster the DL, there's space in the secondary and there are the likes of Crabtree and Moss with quick legs and sticky hands.

Baltimore have to concentrate on the rushers though, surely? If they don't blitz and attack Kaep hard, how else can they win?

Re Delanie Walker, a lot of the time he is the blocking TE in the 2 TE sets but this sometimes helps a lot when they do call his number. 2 moments of interest for me during the season were against the Saints( who were truly awful v TE this season), Davis caught a pass in the first half but got a daft pen which brought the play back, they then threw a pass to him when he had acres of running room in front and he did the turn before I have caught it thing and dropped it. What San Fran did then, which seemed to be punishment for those two plays was Davis became the blocking TE and Walker got to run the routes and he finished with 3 catches for 81. So when they choose to use him he can go for a long gain, so he could well only need 1 catch to make over the 20.5. They also ran a play very early in the second half v Atlanta which I loved at the time coz Davis had a great first half and they just lined up in the same positions and Walker ran the long pass route instead of Davis and he caught it for 20 yards.

He had 23 targets in the first 13 games this season and converted those into 13 catches. In the last 5 games tho he has had 20 targets and made 10 catches for an average of 17.5 yards, so again you can be close to the total with just one pass using those stats. I think the number has been put in using his figures for the season but his targets and catches have gone up towards the end of the season. Balti rank highly in defending TE's which could make it difficult for Davis and might mean San Fran try to use Walker more from seemingly blocking positions.

One down side could this, looking thru his stats his worst games were against teams with a good pass rush, I guess they used him to protect the QB a little more there, tho most of those games were earlier in the season with Smith at QB. I thought 20.5 was a little low
