Must tell a tale from yesterday when a certain prominent trainer was talking to his owner when discussing which of two chases to go for next week, said at 11.30am "well I think you should go for the NH Chase Mr X, as they haven't had a drop of rain in Cheltenham", when it had in fact been raining for 12 hours. " Its ok Mr trainer, I want to go for the RSA".......Trainer.......silence......

Best interests......?

No, a fair point. It's just always a slightly wobbly moment when you see any money queueing up to back something wiped...

Be interested to see what the full score is in due course.

At lunchtime City AM's racing editor tweeted 'Grands Crus joins the ever growing list of horses missing Cheltenham, got a sneaky feeling that Grandouet will join that list'

It got retweeted a few times and then he started drifting.

ice-cream question time

Henderson is 4/6 Top Cheltenham trainer

I am looking for a sporting alternative for interest

Nicholls is 10-1 in a spot, I gather edit 9-1

Is that an interesting price, or who would you suggest as an alternative?

thank you

Afternoon Mr T.

After much coffee and thinkage I am going for Huddersfield to beat Leeds tonight. I also considered Widnes to win, and I also like Catalans but I do have a psychological aversion to supporting surrender monkeys away from home. It is nice to have some company on tft on the rugby league side of things as I have been on my own for some time here.

As far as Huddersfield go, I can't make them a bigger price than 2-1 so the 11/4 we can get is good. It may well be a low scoring game and I like the drop goal at 4-1 too. Anyone with Stan James can get 3-1 on Huddersfield.

Suggest £15 Huddersfield to beat Leeds tonight @ 11/4 Bet Fred.

The Huddersfield v Leeds game will definitely be a close one.  Ryan Bailey is back for Leeds tonight (I think), so that should nudge things slightly in favour of Huddersfield Cheesy

For the nits you might like the 10/11 +12 (I'm already on Wink)

Thanks Joe. Not one for Fred, but that is the sort of bet I like for myself.

You know me, Aces minimum.

I expect you have seen it Mr hector, but in case you were too busy scoffing cakes & supping coffee, Kinboshi has a Rugby League Thread, here....

Thanks h.

I would not have been troubled if you had also chosen the Catalans, but now we have two strings to our RL bow tonight, so that is good, as RL is very profitable for us. Good to see kinboshi on board, too, though whatever you do, do NOT mention religion, or speeding. He don't 'arf go on. .

Personally, I've gone the wimp route, & taken the Handicap, but Fred has gor exactly what you ordered.

I have also been a little naughty, & even though you did not quite recommend it, I have had £5 on a Drop Goal, too.

£15 @ 11/4, BetFred, Huddersfield to beat Leeds.

£5 @ 4/1, BetVictor, Drop Goal to be scored.

Dads going to Leeds VS Hudds, he says Leeds are sick of Hudds beating them and players went revenge, thinks they will win 14-6 but I think Hudds might take it in a close game (3/1) about reet.

Bailley back for Leeds, not sure about Zak Hardaker though.

I remember Kybo but I would never have guessed it was an acronym and certainly not for that, how they must have chuckled at whooooshing everyone.

I remember Three Troikas too vaiguely, it was around the time of those great French mares Allez France and Dahlia IIRC, I had a nice touch on Dahlia once, possibly at Sandown Park or was it kempton.

How much did you win for your early ten-to-follow victories? I bet noone else did that double.

Jeez Ralph, Allez France & Dahlia, there are some great stories there.

Think I better put them on my Diary, before I further derail Fred, once I start I can't stop with those old racing tales.

I would imagine the touch you had on Dahlia was at Ascot, but it could have been Sandown I suppose. I doubt it was Kempton.
