Hi Tal, There used a to be a blonde French woman in Team Winamax ho was supposed to be amazing at chess. I just checked out their site but I couldn't find her. I think there are a lot of examples of top chess players who play poker. Ivo Donev is often cited as one, but I don't know enough to know if he is great at chess.

I've just checked (double pun ever so intended) and Donev is an International Master, which is one below Grand Master. Very strong player nonetheless. Well above my level.

Quite a lot of decent chess players of his level play poker on the side for their wages, even if they regard themselves as chess players first.

At his peak, Ylon Schwartz was about the same level as Donev. Almira Skripchenko might be the woman you're talking about, possibly.

Dan Harrington was a strong player in his day.

What about Tibor Tolnoi?

Good one, yes. He's a Hungarian Grandmaster.

There's a good story about America's top player, Hikaru Nakamura, who - like Grischuk - is in the elite bracket. He was being trained by Garry Kasparov in 2011, as Kasparov saw huge potential in him (already world top ten but the possibility of going further). A few months into their relationship, Kasparov reportedly invited Nakamura to his base somewhere in Eastern Europe, only to get the response that Nakamura would prefer instead to play in the WSOP main event. The two - as far as I know - haven't spoken since.

Nakamura bust on day 2.

Kasparov said:

“Poker is now everywhere, as amateurs dream of winning millions and being on television for playing a card game whose complexities can be detailed on a single piece of paper”

Kasparov heads up against Sam Grafton.

I'd pay to watch that.

Regarding the Budget, Osbourne is highly unlikely to use any phrases with negative associations for the Tory party.

I would say Austerity is extremely unlikely - he will phrase it as "tough decisions" or something or "brave choices".

Bedroom Tax is a 1000-1 shot in my opinion given that it is a Labour coined phrase to describe something which isn't even a tax!

Cyrpus must be nailed on.  Osbourne will hold it up as an example of what happens if you spend too much.  Only danger is it if he says "Cypriot situation".

Hard working families

2/1, is my bet on further consideration

Cyprus must also be a great bet

Agree with the Vettel bet, though if he does not win this weekend (and malaysia throws up odds results due to severeweather) he'll go nearer 2-1

A good friend of mine (and a good judge) works for Force India and he reckons it is much closer in the F1 Constructors Championship than people think. Vettel may be the best driver but Mark Webber is just not going to get enough points. Ferrari were as big as 4/1 before Melbourne and I wish I had written this yesterday but you can still get 3/1 with Betfred and Paddy and I would like to put forward my first bet for Fred. Although it does tie stake up for a while it will give Tikay a sweat in every race.

Recommend £20 at 3/1 Ferrari for Fred.

Vettel is out to 13/8 B365 and Skybet (from around evens yesterday) following his 3rd at Melbourne. I am told this is too big now and recommend £20 for Fred too.

Thanks Joe.

We have gone with Vettel @ 8/5, thanks.

£20 @ 8/5, Boylesports, Seb Vettel, 2013 FI Drivers Championship.

ON

Bet ref: 78/76 Vettel, Sebastian @ 8/5
Formula 1 Championships 2013
Drivers Championship
Total stake £20.00
Estimated return £52.00
Full stake £20.00
Full estimated return £52.00

Blackburn have gone through more managers this season than Manchester United have done since 1972.

Twitter at 25/1 with Lads and 33/1 with Satan James. Seems huge

Triple A rating is 5/1 with Laddies and Satan 2/1

£10 Triple A rating and £5 Twitter?

edit: Hard working families seems a good choice.

Another good article

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/21839805

"If Gatland still has difficult choices around the balance of his final party, perhaps the biggest one concerns his choice of captain.

At 17:00 GMT on Saturday, Robshaw was still the bookies' favourite.

But after events in Cardiff, Warburton - the early front-runner - is now the marginal favourite again, even though it appears he turned down the Wales captaincy against England to concentrate on his own game.

That may have proved a wise move. Not only has he surely sealed his place on the plane, but made it more likely he will be in the Test side, thus enhancing his captaincy claims in the process.

"I feel sorry for Robshaw, who has done an outstanding job for England," said Woodward. "But you have to pick as captain someone who is 100% in your Test team. I think Robshaw will go to Australia but the captaincy of the Lions will now go to someone in a Welsh shirt and deservedly so."

If so, the identity of that Welshman has already provoked some debate, with lock Alun Wyn Jones and prop Jenkins, who led Wales against England, also thrust into the equation.

O'Driscoll remains the other most plausible alternative, although even some of those who know him doubt if he will be asked to do the job a second time.

"I think 100% he will be selected," said his former Ireland team-mate Wood. "He has the quality and class, not just in the past but now. But to lead as captain, I am not so sure.

"He has a lot of miles on the clock but he will be one of the leaders without a shadow of a doubt, and whoever is captain, he will be someone he can rely on." "

Triple A seems a bad bet to me.  You don't mention your total fails in politics.  I like the twitter bet too, even gramps goes on twitter these days.

I know 25/1 seems big, but I can't get my head round why, how, & in what context, he would mention Twitter?

And yes, I'm a lol-Expert on Twitter.
