Finally arisen from my post Cheltenham gloom.
Oh what might have been. Two sets of bets majored the portfolio at the start of the week, my fancies, through my eyes/my research, and the loyalty bets
My stuff
My Tent, Backed at all rates from 20s down.....2nd
Boston Bob. Backed at all rates from 10s down......fell when looking winner
Rock on Ruby, backed at 10 down.....2nd
Shakervillz, backed at 66s.......2nd
Make your Mark, backed at 25s........4th
Capt Chris, backed at 25s........ground went against him, and lost so much ground jumping right....bring on Punches.......unpl
Alderwood, backed at 14s down..........Bingo!!!
The loyalty stuff(all the Roger Brookhouse horses, cos I knew targets etc)
Goulanes, backed at 270s down, started at
.........unpl
Saddlers Risk.......unpl
Cheltanian, backed at 180s down........unpl
Chartreux........unpl
Close House backed at 20s.........unpl
Liquidator backed at 90s down........4th...betfair first 3!
Lessons on loyalty and betting well and truly learnt.
Thankfully a daily scan of Mr Channings tips helped ease the daily pain, along with the minor contribution of the priority bets. Lets hope that becomes a regular treat!
As was the same as last year, with these constant reverses and big emotional dips, the week went badly until All In situations in the final race left the week mildly profitable, regardless of sanity, as did Belvano last year. Thank god for the Grand Annual!
Anyway, I managed a look in yesterday and must thank horsey for a lovely ew trixie, that boy knows his beach racing!!
Apart from that, I have managed to avoid a lot of stuff this week, which seems just as well looking back......
Back to business, and I need someone to clarify exactly what our ESC selection is please?!!
Good to be back in the safe haven that is TFT. GL this week all.
He most certainly does.
His system requires a lot of bets, he bets big-priced stuff, but at present, he cannot commit the time to it.
Not sure if you followed the thread he used to run here, but he turned £1,000 into £2,200 inside 6 weeks before time & domestic issues meant he had to stop.
It is here....

thanks for the kind words tikay
a question out of nothing
does anybody have a view on the us golf tonight?
I watch it quite often on a sunday evening but rarely bet on it
I must admit a hint of surprise at seeing the south african joint fav considering i believe he has yet to win on the european tour and from doing some brief reading this morning is generally considered a bit of a bottler
I also noted that the leaderboard after round 2 now looks different again after yesterday
Something tells me this may be a lottery but is there any value?

As defending champ, Luuuuuuuuuke looked value at 18s just after he finished, as the rest were falling about all around.
From a value perspective they continued to do so and he is about
now, not so good.
If I were to banzai, it would probably be the 19 yr old that came second last week, Jordan Speith, looks like a talent.

A good friend of mine (and a good judge) works for Force India and he reckons it is much closer in the F1 Constructors Championship than people think. Vettel may be the best driver but Mark Webber is just not going to get enough points. Ferrari were as big as 4/1 before Melbourne and I wish I had written this yesterday but you can still get 3/1 with Betfred and Paddy and I would like to put forward my first bet for Fred. Although it does tie stake up for a while it will give Tikay a sweat in every race.
Recommend £20 at 3/1 Ferrari for Fred.
Vettel is out to 13/8 B365 and Skybet (from around evens yesterday) following his 3rd at Melbourne. I am told this is too big now and recommend £20 for Fred too.

Point of order
This man, a thread regular, spotted at Cheltenham
I propose a thread ban for excessive countryside wear, and red trousers
Red trousers!
Watched about 10mins of the NZ v England cricket last night. Who's the kiwi doing the comm? Very funny the stuff about Nasser.
And the line about the English boys having a debate.
"Over what, red trousers or mustard cords?" Wpwpwp

Adzy,
Our ESC nonsense, thanks to that damn Chompy, is.....
Swden @ 12/1
Netherlands @ 10/1.
I have it on good authority that Netherlands is actually Holland.
On the Spready they are listed under "Misc", but I need to word Mere, they should be
"Novelty
"
an explanation

ice-cream question time
Henderson is 4/6 Top Cheltenham trainer
I am looking for a sporting alternative for interest
Nicholls is 10-1 in a spot, I gather
edit 9-1
Is that an interesting price, or who would you suggest as an alternative?
thank you
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/racing-specials/long-term/cheltenham-festival/top-trainer
this got missed, or else no one cares
any views please?
If it is value, I care!
I need help on it though.
market has been up a while
for the bet to cop nicholls is going to have to probably win at least a couple of handicaps (his hand in the big 4 races is weaker than usual)
thank you
Is there any value anywhere in the top trainer market? (I might just be having addiction problems)
I have no idea tbh have not looked in detail
For anybody other than henderson, mullins or nicholls to win though looks almost impossible (as market says)
FWIW, based on his team I would rather be on Mullins at 15/8 than the Chemist at 4/6. I would have had them at the same price. Mullins ultra deep this season.
I see Mr C stepped in after this and claimed the bet! Still, I nicked enough of his stuff last week, seems only fair!

I must have missed that one Adz. you can have it though. The guy who mentioned it to me had a fairly incredible week actually. Should listen to him more often.
Glad I helped point out the odd helpful hint.

Think this is a massive over-reaction to the sending off in Sunderland/Norwich.
Recommend a lay of Sunderland at 2.74 or better. I did it at 2.36 before the free-kick but I was expecting it to be 3.0.
Lay £40.

That is the most informative and educating few minutes I have spent in ages. I never knew half of that.
