I’ve been alluding to backing Watford in the Championship for a few weeks now, and I think now is the time to act, as information has firmed up and the price has yet to respond.

The best way to attack is to back with Bet Victor Watford to be promoted at 5-1, as opposed to the 14-1 for winning.

To clear things up firstly, Watford are NOT banned from buying/loaning players from Udinese and they are NOT under a full transfer embargo.  We have a soft embargo after being naughty with Danny Graham transfer proceeds a few years back, and this simply means that we have to get paperwork rubber stamped by the football league before making purchases, whereas I think other teams can do the paperwork afterwards.

The impact of the “Holloway” Ruling is that we can only sign 4 players on loan from Udinese.  This isn’t a problem.  Last year we had about 12, but this was because the takeover was late in the summer and it was the only way to patch our squad up in time.

Watford will play 3-5-2 this season, with a back up plan of 4-3-3 if that isn’t working.  The 3-5-2 is lethal on the road, but sometimes it struggles to break down teams at home hence the need for plan B.

I am aware of several players who have confirmed as joining, some who are strongly rumoured to be joining and some spots which we still need to address.  These empty spots will be sorted by the new season.   The only thing I am unsure about is which players will be on loan contracts, and which will be perms.

Hi Mere,

http://www.oddschecker.com/cycling/tour-de-france/tour-de-france-stage-4-[nice-ttt-25km]/winner

Sorry pushed for time.

BMC FTW with PP 18/1. Suggest £10.00

I have Garmin as favourites, but all the top six teams will all be close, probably something like 20-30 sec difference.

BMC team will have the advantage of going second to last & can work to the times already set.

14/1 - any good?

laddies or stans @ 16/1

Thanks.

01 Jul 2013 21:05      Tour De France 2013 Stages    Stage 4 Victory, Bmc Racing Team, 16/1
Single £10.00 (Pot. Ret. £170.00)   Open   Open

BMC's manager, Bobby Julich thinks there could be 7 teams within 10 secs of one another at the finish.

Closer than I thought, but good for BMC with the advantage of a late starting time.

Top Selling Console in 2013 Betting Odds
Paddy Power has the Playstation 4 at 2/7, this seems generous giving the history of both manufacturers and the negativity surrounding the main competitor, the xbox one, which it is up against in the betting market.
Anyone have any thoughts?

RECOMMENDED BET - £150 on Gina to win Big Brother @ 8/1 (various bookmakers) or 9.4 on Betfair.

No rebuffery ta, we are taking a position here with a view to possibly trading some out at shorter prices.

Gina is looking like the chosen one already and there's no doubt she's getting a positive edit. That is likely to continue unless she does something to blow her own chances.

Airtime is key now. Whoever gets most of it has the best chance of winning. Aaron got booed when he came out as the winner. The same could well happen with Gina. She splits opinion but she is crushing in the polls.

Essentially she is everything that is wrong with this country but she is endearing with it. It's hard not to smile when she's on screen.

Again the girls are very weak this series. Two have gone already and Wolfy is odds-on to make it three on Friday.

Hazel and Jackie are complete no-channers, while I've no idea why Charlie is a single-figure price. Sophie is just in the background and I can't see that changing.

Gina tops the polls, gets loads of airtime and is TV gold.

I expect her to be pushing for favouritism by the end of the week and for her price to come down after tomorrow night's show - she's one of four up for eviction this week but won't be going and should be confirmed as having fewest 'evict' votes.

Pretty sure this is going to end in tears but ...

If we are intending to trade I would have preferred taking the odds on Betfair but they are currently 8.6 (can be laid at 9) so had to go with a bookie.
Had to split it over two bookies as got maxed.

I'm sure we can rely on you to keep us abreast of the situation.

As there is the possibility that I may get relieved of bet placing duty imminently (i.e. as soon as tikay catches up with this thread) I'd just like to say what a pleasure it has been ...

They're both pretty similar machines and it's really down to preference. I like that both are going for AMD-based consoles, but the sales numbers will be a combination of press reaction on release about reliability and user-friendliness and of people's own biases in the Microsoft/Sony (see SNES/Megadrive in my day  ) war.

Tough to say 2/7 represents value when we are locking up a chunk of money for six months, although I share your view that the PS4 will very likely spank the Xbox one

Pretty sure the peroxided pro punterer will have palpitations when he awakens to find a max bet being struck on Big Bro.

Gina is incred though.

I like it a lot when MereNovice is in control of the purse strings.

Thoughts on back Daley at 16s to trade out later? Beginning the get more airtime now and currently being epitted in a favourable light. Appears well liked in the house so likely to last a while which should see the price shorten. Seems to have that sarcastic streak which goes down well with the British viewing public.
