Timeform Weight-Adjusted Ratings for King George:

142: CIRRUS DES AIGLES
131: EKTIHAAM
130: UNIVERSAL, RED CADEAUX, NOVELLIST

129 bar

Is Ektihaam at 8-1 (2-1 the place) the call here?

Hope so!

Any thoughts on the King George?

Cirrus looks a dodgy fav at the price to me. Doubts over ground for sure and possibly trip too.

Must be some ew value against it?
Genuinely read the first sentence and thought it was a baby betting question. Someone on my Facebook has noticed their bet on Alice being the name is not yet a loser....would be a shock from here mind

Royal Baby.

Are we thinking about this too much, or is it a fairly simple conundrum?

Dont they have to name the little fella after a previous King? Is there not a form of precedent set? I don't know enough about it, hence the question, but if so, it must rule out a lot of names.

Also, cant see second fav James being used, as he is likely to end up being called Prince Jimmy. Can't see that sitting too well. Cant see Charles being used either

leaves you with

George 3-1
Henry  16-1
Richard 20-1
Edward 33-1
John 66-1

Sense or senile?

James would politically be a very shrewd move because of its Scottish connotations. For that reason, George or Richard would be a negative. I also don't think George is a likely first name for the reason I explained before: Charles is very unlikely to be Charles III and taking his Grandfather's regnal name has been rumoured previously to be his preferred choice, when the time comes.

A second King John mightn't play well to the people who think he's that evil, villainous bloke off the telly.

We already have a Prince Henry; his uncle.

Arguably the problem with these markets is it's like betting in-running and there's someone out there who knows more than we. However, the gender of the baby market suggests there's enough money for us to snaffle some profit if we are savvy enough.

The tennis bet has weighed in after a weather delay. Delbonis winning in straight sets.

Interesting Tal.

On the basis that John would not appeal to those that see him as a Lion with a Peter Ustinov voice, would people in this day and age not get confused calling Charles something else?

I don't think people are that much dafter than they were in 1936, 1901 or 1837, when monarchs were crowned with their second given name.

We coped with P Diddy, Starburst, Snickers and to a lesser extent Cif.

Offered 17p. Ridiculous.

Weird.  Called up and they gave me £50.  Must be a bug on the site.
